So according to my chiropractor, I have a severe pinched nerve in my back that is wrapping around my right hip. Anybody else dealt with anything similar and have any recommendations for ease of pain or just comfort?

I should have said, non narcotic. I hate medicine and borderline refuse to take it unless absolutely necessary. I'm all for other remedies tho.

well, you're no fun. a little Mary J?

honestly though, something warm. heat pad, or even if you could get one of those electro-therapy things it will help loosen stuff up back there.

Yea, he gave me a Tens Unit for it as well. Those things are awesome, but just makes me nervous with it being my back. Ive used them on my knee, shoulder, oblique before, but the back is a little different to me.

no dude use it. I have hyper-lordosis and had to go to therapy for my back and the electro stuff is magic. makes you tense up a little during but after it feels like a million bucks.

Inversion table. I used to have one and treated my lower back for a little bit. Anything that effectively reverses the gravity process on your spine. Even a pull up bar that you can hang from for a little bit helped me. I would also "sit" upside down on the couch. Back on the floor, thighs up the side, calves/feet in the sitting area.

I would also suggest letting yourself float in a pool.

Had this issue due to football, what help me the most was strengthening my core and back. I still have issues but with a strong core and back they only flare up every so often. Heating pad and therapy helped also.

THIS. EVERY BIT OF THIS. I've worked on my core and back so much more often since I had my therapy for hyper-lordosis. Seriously, strengthen your muscles and those kind of pains will begin to go away.

Just make sure you're lifting with the proper techniques. The back is probably the easiest one to make worse injury-wise if you ain't doing it right.

absolutely. deadlifts is when I "locked up" my back a couple years ago and went to the doctor to find out I had hyper lordosis. That's when I started strengthening it with other workouts first then getting back into deadlifts. At that time it was 225lbs I had hurt my back on, now I'm at a 375lb deadlift with no back pain when I do it. Slowly going up. Train correctly, and often. I cannot wait till I'm allowed back into the gym after this surgery.

It will be a mess. I think people have gotten it into their heads that this will be a leisurely drive through the woods. This is a competition of 46 teams with 100 trucks. It won't be easy, and some of these competitors have traversed the artic circle to Venezuela. The competition will be very stiff. If that's what you're looking for you'll be very pleased. I couldn't have landed sponsors if I limited it to 30 trucks. It's just impossible.
