yeah you get caught and you are in for some sh*t. and the cops will follow you, they know where all the trailheads let out and will radio to others to sit and wait on you. the least i have heard about is a $500 fine and about 3 or so hours sittin in a cell. plus impound your vehicle so you gotta pay for that as well.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.

interesting piece of info. Never pay for your vehicle to get out of a state run impound lot. They tow it because IF they arrest you, they are liable for anything that happens to your vehicle, so they tow it to prevent anything from happening to it. FYI

Theres a place about 10 miles from my house that would be a fun challenge for 4x4 and prerunner alike. It's in the Alabama national wildlife reserve.

stoney looks pretty good. there is another place right across the interstate from stoneys called wilborns. rode 4wheelers there several years ago, not sure how truck friendly it is now, website says all vehicles welcome. Of course there's wooley's (north of hunstville about 45miles up 65.), been there also it is truck friendly. Hale mtn (north up winchester rd around 60miles.), is another place haven't been there yet though. We just need to plan a trail run one weekend.

B'ham guys.. That was your department! I'll do Stoney sometime if y'all are down! I've done Wilborn on a quad and it's fun and OPEN.. BUT.. You are limited in trucks. I saw a factory Range Rover down there one time and I was THOROUGHLY impressed by what it could do! It went up and down every hill my buddies SxS went! It was fun though!

I have mentioned this place before, but i won't go searching for the post. I used to take my k5 blazer there for offloading. I used to ride 4wheelers there, too. Mud, hillclimbs trenches, river crossings and more. Can camp out there, right on the river if you want. My favorite place to go now that they closed down the bowl.

New to website but would love to try some of these places you all are talking about but from what I had heard a couple of years ago Wilbourne had closed to public and is now a private riding club, but also that was a couple of years ago and things change.

Welcome man! Nice to meet ya!

Pretty much everywhere we go on meets are 2wd friendly, so you're golden. We will be planning a central Alabama meet after we are done with the Huntsville meet posted in the southeast section.
