To be honest, I am not sure. I would have to compare the tailgate latching mechanisms, which is where they attach. I suspect that they are different.

 

^^ no, you are forgetting the 2nd gen is a good bit wider than a first gen, in essence to "modify" it to fit would mean cutting a section out of it and making it narrower.

 

i have a brand new set of 265/75/16 Michelin at2 on my old 16s...they have less than a half a take of gas. its a 32"

I measured the extender's width. At it's widest point it's 48 5/8". The mounting surface on the 2nd gen are 53" face to face. How wide is the 1st gen.

Speaking of picture whoring... I'm shameless about that sort of thing.

Spent the weekend at the USGP in Austin. Got this shot Friday during the Ferrari Challenge 458 practice session.

 

NICE! I love the break glow.

 

Yeah that was at the end of the straight between turns 11 and 12. They were lighting them up down there. Saw one dude lock up all four and rear end the hell out of the guy in front of him. That was pretty spectacular.
