Lol that picture weirds me out every time. It's not so much about the towing, although weight is a factor and I really like what I've read about toyota axle swaps for as much strength as a dana given the light weight of a sami without as much additional poundage. The fuel cell is where i'd like to stick a back seat, and the gas tank is gone, so I can't put it back easily. I'm really digging the idea of a proper tracker swap for EFI, and this thing is carbed. I don't really want to go to 36's - 35's maybe, but these things are roll prone as it is, so I'd rather try out 33's first to start. Also, I'd rather have a cage than trust the tin top, although he's clearly rolled it. It's more built than I'm ready for.

Hah, yeah, fuck that. I'm off to rent a uhaul auto transport for a couple of hours, I am going to do a practice run with the on it miata and see how it all does before I dump money into brake controllers, trailers, and samurais. I may be getting a big load of nothing if it goes poorly.

If I can remember correctly, I did go down a creek bed that you went down! You'll continue to go down trails that I WON'T because it will be my DD and I don't really want to break shit! I didn't climb that hill because I knew I wouldn't be able to without a locker.
EDIT: I think this word is getting to your head! J. E. E. P. taking stuff so seriously. Geez Louizzzzzz

Yeah? How much? I already ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet and I can return it.

Tow experiment went well. I'm going to do mostly 60-65 in fourth and third for any real hill, but that's to be expected. Otherwise did the 4300-4500 lbs I had like a champ. Wouldn't want to do long drives every week, but I think its quite safe a couple times a year if I'm not in a hurry. Braked and tracked 100% perfect, and that'll only improve with weight dist, sway control, and electronic braking.

I'd cancel it for sure. I'm about 95% sure I know where mine is. I don't know if you've looked into the tekonsha P3 (I thought it was prodigy, maybe prodigy p3) is one of the more feature heavy controllers and you can't program the levels of breaking. Not to mention it has an e-brake lever which surprisingly is useful. I didn't think I would need it but a lot of times at offroad parks, the trailer parking isn't the most friendly of an area.

Yeah, I'm interested. The order is already on its way, Amazon prime, but it's easy enough to return. I was planning to just stick a clamp on the brake button to load and unload, but that's even better and less ghetto.

Text me when you find it, and I can get Christina to pull out some cash and get it when she's in town tomorrow.

haha, Like I said, shoot me a text to remind me.

btw, you going single brake axle or double brake axles?

Reason I ask is because I actually had my trailer built to spec. both Lone Wolf trailer and Lawrimore trailer have manufacturing plants across the street from each other (in cullman area) and you can buy direct. I got my tandem axle (both breake axles) 16x7 foot trailer with breakaway kit for 1300 brand new with a spare tire.

You could probably get away with a 12ft tandem axle single brake for about 1100.

    Yeah I'll do that.

A 7x12 tandem with single brake was exactly what I planned on. I figured the extra axle = more load capacity if I want to do a full-size truck later, less pants-shitting on tire blowouts, and Justin pointed out it takes some tongue load off.

Man, my father-in-law got a 8x18 or something huge from lone wolf for $1200 5-6 years ago. And now I see you got one for 1300. I called them about a 7x12 tandem, and it's going to be $1700, same price as Hurst up here, a similar company in this area. If I could find one for $1100 I'd jump on it.

damn. I know steel has gone up since I bought mine but it shouldn't have gone up that much. I guess it was 4 years ago when I bought mine.

Try lawrimore though. They were about 100-200 bucks less than lone wolf.

Yeah, I gave a few places a call, but I think shit's just gotten expensive. Everything's gone up, but especially metal prices...

Hadn't heard of them, but thanks, I'll give them a call.

Yeah, I'll really try to do that with Hurst here. If I don't have to make a trip to cullman purely to pick up a trailer, that saves me a tank or two of gas.

Thanks man! I think I saw the one you're talking about. He's got some decent stuff on it, but it's got the stock 1.3 /w carb, stock axles, 31" tires. I appreciate it though.
