We are sitting at 2 inches almost here at the shop. City is advising businesses to close and go home.

Lol probably best to do that. I just saw a picture of I65 where 3 semi's are just sitting there and can't move, just blocking the highway. Got a bad traffic jam

Sad because it is not difficult to drive in, but most people here are not used to it. I drove in a lot deeper than THIS in Maryland. We were sitting in 2 feet plus and the only way you could drive on the interstate was to follow the salt trucks and 18 wheelers.

Tried to get my daughter from daycare, took me 2 hours to make it about 2 miles from my house and an hour to get back after I turned around. Plan was to meet my wife there and take the LC back. Wife is currently holed up at the church with her, and planning to stay there for the foreseeable future.

I towed a guy in an F250 off the side of the road. Cars abandoned on just about every hill around here. It's terrible.

Dang. Sorry to hear that. This is what I saw coming home from the shop today.

Wife, daughter, and MIL are holed up at a friends house near the daycare for the evening. I drove around the neighborhood this afternoon and gave folks rides and helped un-stick cars. There are 15+ cars abandoned at the entrance of my neighborhood, and as folks get home it's increasing. HWY 280 is totally gridlocked with tractor trailers sliding and jack knifing. HWY 119 is a solid sheet of ice, and folks, stopped, are sliding sideways off the road due to the crown in the road bed.

    We having fun yet?

Glad you are able to help folks out.

Question about unsticking cars. How are you getting a hold of them? I know most cars have the pop out panel in the front bumpers, but I don't know anyone who actually has a hook for it. I figure the most likely method is just catching them by the rear axle or the front LCA.

I drove around my area and looked for stranded people about an hour ago. Lots of snow and ice, but the roads are free of stranded people. It appears that my area was prepared for this.

well, I got off work around 10:30 and headed to pick up our son at daycare. wife had to stay at the hospital for the night because they called a code white. got to the daycare finally right at 3pm. loaded up our son and headed home. should have been a 20 min drive for normal traffic. got home at 645. spent a full 8 hours in the truck to go what ended up being about 40 miles. tires performed flawlessly and was able to go where others were stopping and abandoning cars to walk. couldnt have been anymore pleased with the truck. was just pissed at all the front wheel drive cars trying to drive around and getting stuck on the slightest inclines on red mountain expressway, so when i got the chance i hooked it off the side of the road and drove past them... when i could get a chance. not many chances as there isnt much shoulder on that road.
