Yeah propane is stupid simple on a carbed vehicle.. I wish I had dual fuel!! But I can barely afford the basics, like lift, tires, gears, etc, so something like propane is a long ways away for me!

You do have to be careful with the propane ones. It is really simple to do, but be VERY careful with ignition timing. I have seen people advance their timing too far trying to gain that extra few ponies. One backfire and suddenly you have a flame thrower pointing into the intake. I have replaced dozens of melted manifolds because you can't HEAR it after the backfire, all you know is the engine won't run. In the meanwhile the inlet has become a propane torch. lol.

Good to know, Bill. I'll read about it more before I actually do it, if I get the crawler.

Anyone on here from the Birmingham or Fort Payne area? I'm looking to swap my 99 pre runner to manual/4wd soon and would love some help and someone to share some beer and good times with while we do it!

Well, glad I didn't get that crawler... Dun popped the "new" motor in the miata at my last track day. Didn't overheat it or anything this time, but it's still starting to knock.

Guess I'm going to be getting another engine, again! This time at least I'll take my time and find a good one, rather than throwing in the first thing I get my hands on.

Last two were at TGPR in munford, AL. I go with Just Track It, they're based in Atlanta. TGPR is sort of the little leagues, I'm going to start hitting Barber, AMP, etc. The national corvette museum also is going to be done with their brand new track in October, and that's going to be on my hit list for next year.

When I get to where I'm satisfied with my truck, I plan to build a track car/truck

It's a whole lot of fun. Track truck? I highly doubt that's something you want to do. What did you want to build?

Also, here's a fun picture! That chunk of what I'm pretty sure is a rod bearing is supposed to be in the engine, last I checked... Faaaaak.

Idk really. I love 240z's with a sr20 or a 2JZ. I'm a fan of imports, but they have to be done right. I would like an early 70's Corolla, early Skylines, MK3 Supra's. Stuff like that. Suprisingly I hate AE86 Corollas. I do love an MK4 Supra, but I hate it when people want to build 1000hp Supras because the turbo lag is ridiculous. I do like STi's and Evo's also but I don't know if I wanna go that new or not. I like stuff that is different and really love old classic imports. No Honda Civics or anything like that.

I do have to say that I loved muscle cars before I ever got into vintage imports and would never hesitate to build a Pro-touring 1972 Camaro.

If I do a truck, import style it'd be a build S-Runner. Muscle style then it'd be a early 50's Ford with a Crown Vic front end and linked narrowed rear axle. I'd stick a LS in it.

I love technical engine work. I wish I had a very reputable/good engine builder to train me for awhile.

So really I could own/build about anything and have fun in it..

Miatas are the jeep cherokees of track cars, they're hands-down the best bang for the buck. But you're talking to somebody who puts absolutely no value on looks or having something different, I'm very much function over form. Well, if you ever do it, then you can meet me at the track.

Porsche 944 turbo or a BMW e36 are both a lot of fun for cheap too.

They are gay little cars, but damn do they handle, and holy shit damn do they move if you turbo them.

I also have a buddy who is huge into mustangs, you can build up a 90's 5.0 pretty cheap or even a fox body, although I think those are hideous. Problem is you're dropping a lot of cash fixing the rear end to not suck for track work.

What's up everybody. It's been awhile. Hope everyone is ready for the 4th!? And been doing well. Trying to kill some hours at work as it is dead and this thread popped up on my Gmail.

Noticed y'all were discussing imports. Hope you don't mind a couple pics of my ride. Still miss my Tacoma though. Wish I kept it!

If you noticed I did keep a bit of that Speedway Blue ;) It is actually close as they could get to F Zero Blue which is Volk color only.

Been steadily modding the 370. Tracked at Barber and looking to go to Atlanta Motorsports Park this year.
