The GoPro does a pretty good job of it. Definitely requires some reading up on so you get your settings right.

Yea you would have to have the settings dialed back from continuous which is what I had mine set on. That was about a 4 1/2 hour drive I think compressed down to 4 minutes so obviously you couldn't have it continuous. There are settings in the camera that would make a drive lapse to Moab possible though.

I'll talk to him. Thanks for the insight. I'll see what I can do because that would be neat.

Things you'll need off the top of my head.
    GoPro suction cup mount
    GoPro mount "The Frame"
    USB charger
    USB cable
Multiple Micro SD Cards haha. 26 hours

You would have to have the GoPro hooked up to a continuous power source
I suggest Samsung SD cards. The sandisk cards malfunction all the time in my GoPro. I'll hit record and the camera freezes up. It's the card, not the camera causing it.

I know he has the suction cup mount, charger, cable, and a 32gb card. That's about it though. It can be constantly hooked up to my charger in the truck while I drive.

Cool. I have 64GB cards. A 64GB card will get you about 2 hours 12 minutes of 4k video lapse at .5 second intervals. I never had luck with regular time lapse and these Sandisk cards because the card would malfunction. Video lapse seems to work better. Regular time lapse shot in 12MP/wide at 1 second intervals will give you 24330 pictures according to my gopro. Looking at it now haha. This will be a fun trip. I wish we could make it.

I use SanDisk cards all the time in my GoPro as well as might high speed digital camera with no issues. The key is to be sure you get the high speed cards. Fast write speeds of 90+GBPS and you will be fine at 4k.

That's what I have. At first I thought it was the Camera. I've ended up with 3 GoPro hero 4 silver's and they all do the same thing using the SanDisk cards. A Lexar card I had did not give me any issues but I misplaced it. I've seen Samsung cards mentioned in numerous blogs so that's why I said Samsung. I should have mentioned Lexar too. I just haven't gotten around to ordering a couple Samsung SD's yet. I've lost faith in SanDisk when using it with the GoPro. They work great in our Camera though.

These are the cards I use. Super fast. I shoot 4k video and 24mp at 5 shots per second.

I did a plane flight from Huntsville to Atlanta once. It was pretty cool. I am just wondering how quick it goes through batteries though.

Not that I know of. Just set to 6 inch C-clamps in the packing area though.

That's the big issue. You have to have it plugged in to a power source the whole time to do a long drive lapse or overnight time lapse. At home is easy, just run a drop cord but on trips you need a battery pack (Goal Zero) or a USB charger with a 1.0A plug.
    I bought this from Amazon
Wasabi Power Dual USB Car Charger for GoPro Auto Charger ACARC-001
Along with an extra long USB cable and it works great for trips.
