Just so everyone remembers, this meet up is MAINLY ABOUT PLANNING MOAB. Riding at the Slab is just a bonus to it, you're obviously more than welcome to go do whatever you want to especially if you're one of the ones not going to Moab but some of us will be sitting down for a while discussing that trip.

It's not a very large place. You can mess around anywhere from 30 min to 5 hours. A Pre-Runner can do most of it.

Alright, just trying to make sure that we won't be in any sort of time crunch if we spend a while discussing Moab. I don't want to take away from either aspect of the day (riding and planning) but the main focus was to meet up and discuss/plan.

I second this. I don't want to drive all the way up there on Saturday and then not spend sufficient time discussing the trip. My priority on Saturday is to discuss the trip and get to know the folks going - not wheeling. So, I suggest we make an itinerary for Saturday to ensure that enough time is allocated to discuss the trip. We can plan time in there for wheeling so everyone is happy, but at the same time we can actually be productive.

Agreed. This is simply a planning trip, at a location that we can wheel a little when were done.

We could even hit up a resturant where we can all sit down and talk/plan.

I think finding a brewery/pub somewhere with food was one of my suggestions at the start of this thread.

Also what is the camping like around the slab? I'm driving 3 hours or so to get there and I'm thinking I want to find somewhere to throw up the RTT for the evening possibly.

No brewery near here, and all the pubs are loud, making planning tough.

Not sure about the overnight rules at the slab. Its national wildlife refuge land, but I'm willing to bet it's posted online somewhere.

Well, any suggestions on an itenerary? @O906 you have the farthest drive then at 3 hours I'm guessing or maybe @LadyRed so you want to set our start time that is convenient for you?

@LadyRed and her boyfriend are meeting up with me here in Mobile and we are going to convoy up. I don't have a time frame yet but I figure we can be there between 0900 and 1000. I haven't even looked at the weather for up there yet.

Are we doing a cookout or potluck or anything?

I'm thinking restaurant is a better idea for time's sake. 0900 to 1000 works for me.

Pick a place near the slab and we'll be there.

I've never been to the slab nor do I know how to get there. I will have to follow @justinalldredge19 down.
