There is a couple parks that are fairly local, and a few areas that we hit here and there. The trail behind the met wad closed down and gated up after somebody got themselves killed.

Damnit you guys... Just closed on my house. Am picking up a trailer tomorrow.

Soooo close to having something to wheel again, but not that close. :( Hopefully someone wants to do another Stoney trip maybe next spring.

I can't do overnight on the 24th. Let's keep day trip and do overnight some other time.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I may still do overnight if I get some folks riding with me.

I'll see how the funds are but if enough people say they will do overnight, I'll save for it instead and hopefully the AC will be fixed on the truck so the wife can come

Welcome to TW! Yeah, we are a Tacoma group, but we don't discriminate. I also would love to welcome you on any of our rides. We usually have an annual get together in February/March up in the Huntsville area, and then the rest of the year it is random. That FJ does look sick. Almost too pretty to wheel...

I don't know if I could do an overnight at Stoney or not. This is going to be the hottest month of the year and the nights won't be much better with the high humidity. I guess if there is enough of a group doing it I might consider it. Otherwise a one-day run on the 24th is fine with me. I doubt I will have the rear diff locked by then, but the front is locked and ready, and with the new lift and all I can do a little more than I did last year. Not that I didn't run all the same trails the group did last time, but the one heavily rocked one I went up the side instead of right up the middle.

One of the trails at Stoney from last July's trip:

Luckily, the iPhone camera isn't good enough to pick up all the pin striping, dents, and trail rash on my rig. She's pretty, but I definitely put her to use...like one is supposed to. :D

I was watching something on TV and it got me to thinking. (Yeah, I know, dangerous thing there) What I would like to know is who would be interested in a get together WITHOUT offroading? Specifically who would like to schedule a paintball get together at one of the local paintball fields in Birmingham?

Sounds like it could be fun. Mostly if I can bring my buddies automatic paintball gun.

Shits! Plus, I don't think I would have the funds for that, especially if they don't rent anything out. Even then, it would be expensive.

It's actually not to bad. They have a paintball area in Calera. When split between multiple players, it can be pretty cheap. The welts last much longer though. :)

I never got welts when I was into paintballing. Then again I bout the paintballs and made sure they weren't frozen either...

No need to freeze paintballs. Just have to use a mans gun, not a kiddie gun. :)
