I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.

I don't get why people buy yetis....Can you explain to me why a 300 dollar cooler is worth it?

Well freaking worth it if you use a cooler enough i guess. It held 30lbs ice for 3 1/2 days and once melted it stayed cold for another day and half so i only have to buy ice twice a week compared to my old cooler which was every other day at best, but i also fish every weekend and it constantly stays in the truck and is always in use and it should be the last cooler i ever have to buy so to me it was well worth it. plus it holds a ton of shit in it for its size.

Id imagin in the winter i probably would need ice every other week, and i always carry a coler with me. It all just boils down to how much you use one. if its just everynow and again camping then i wouldnt bother but like i said i use the shit out of coolers

I don't claim to be a cooler connoisseur by any means, but I did just came from an environment where coolers were used every single weekend. I had no problem keeping ice for 3 days in my old steel coleman cooler. I wanna say it was only 100 bucks too.

I use to live in Deatsville, AL, that's why I sometimes browse through here. But as far as coolers go, I just got a Coleman Xtreme from Wal-Mart for around $50. Went camping for 4 days, had it packed with water, beer, meat, etc. and by time I got home on the 4th day, I still had ice in there. Keep in mind I now live in Las Vegas, it's a dessert out here. At the same time though Yeti's are really nice and would be worth it if you use a cooler almost everyday. In the last 3 months of having my Coleman, I've used it about 10 times so I don't use them enough to spend the money on a Yeti. Although they are great for long fishing trips too if you wanna use it for your fish, lol

Id imagine a steel cooler would do pretty good but idk
It should be the last cooler i ever have to buy and thats the plan so overtime i woulda spent that much on a bunch of other coolers so it was worth it to me. Plus i can lock mine up to keep peeps from stealing mah goods :D

also when i first got it i didnt go through the whole cooldown process before adding more ice, i just dumped it all in and those 3 1/2 days were in direct sunlight at 100+ outside when that ad heatwave or whatever came through. It was hot enough on the outside to not want to touch it or use it to sit on but you open it up and ice cold steam just rolled out of it. & the seal around the edges are superb as well, soetimes it seals up tight enough to not be ale to open it instantly with a touch of a finger

I mean its doable if you wanna take the time to cut the locks and all but not worth it in a short period of time...

We are looking at, from what I have gathered, a 10% discount on fees. Not sure if that is camping AND entry, or just camping. I'll take any discount I can get! Below is the email exchange so far, edited for brevity.

Our group from the Alabama section of TacomaWorld.com will be coming to your park for the weekend of 28 July, 2012. I noticed that you have a night ride scheduled for the 28th, will there be an additional fee for this run? Also, is there primitive camping available at the park, or can you recommend a nearby campground? As of today we will have approximately 10-14 trucks coming, and about 20 members or more showing up. Any information you can give us would be appreciated. We will have our waiver forms filled out and brought with us. Will we need one for each day, or will one work for both days?
Thank you for your time![IMG]

Let me check about the price. I know we will give you a club rate. We are closed today so will let you know tomorrow. There is primitive camping available. I am attaching a sheet with our camping information. One waiver form per person is good for a year but we will also need the information sheet when you turn in the waiver form. We are very excited to hear you will be visiting our park and anything we can do to assist you, we will gladly do.

Good Morning Mr. Tomerlin:

Day and Night: If you would like to ride 8:30am to midnight the rate is $30.00 per vehicle (includes all passengers) with a 10% club discount.

At this point I asked about specific rates for the primitive sites, since they were not in the actual download. I am a bit curious about maybe getting together with a few of us and renting adjacent camper sites at $22 per nite and split the cost, where we will have running water and electricity. Personally I usually camp primitive as hell, but the thought of having a fan to use in this heat is an idea. If anyone wants me to ask something else, since I seem to be in good communication with them right now, just let me know by posting here, and I will ask. Also, if you ARE interested in sharing a camper site, but tenting it out, let me know. I am going to assume they won't allow more than 2 vehicles on a site, so we can pair it up, but if enough people respond fast enough, maybe we could get 4 or 5 sites in a "square" where we can all hang out together.

It doesn't have to have electricity. I can bring my generator and run a couple fans off of it. We will need extension cords and splitters though. We wouldn't need water either. I can bring over 300 gallons of drinking water.

I got a small camper I can tow down there if need be. I seriously live like 45 minutes away so if push comes to shove, I'll bring my car too and go back and forth for the night.

I like the idea of us all together chilling out and passing cokes around the fire talking about the day. so she says the primitive sites are $10 per night, and the RV sites are $22. if we pair up, we can get the RV sites at only $11 per person, since we can pair up on those. Then we will have running water and electricity. It's not a must, but I have to drive almost 3 hours to get there, and I want something that will make the evening better. They said the RV sites are in two rows, so we could get 4 or 5 together, and all hang out in the evening. Once dark falls, if we do not register for the night run, then we will just be sitting around. I think comfort would be nice. Again, it is up to YOU guys to tell me what you all want. So here we go, cut-and-paste as we did before, and let me know what you want. Personally, I am going for an RV site.

Me and Sidewinder10 won't be camping that Saturday night. We will leave sometime after dark and head back home so don't include us for camping just riding.
