ohhhhh.

 

Sitting at my local dealer here in Clanton for my 5k check up on my 17.. they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them to grease the zerks and just unscrew the bolts in diffs and stick their finger in to check levels. I also asked about a tranny tsb, I don't think it's available for a 17.

So all that's included in 5k mileage is a rotate. I asked if they balance I was told for an extra $30. I think it's just because I have different wheels, still oem, but not factory.

Edit: they did tell me 5k has a multipoint inspection so I'd assume u-joints and diff fluid should be included.

 

Well, they didn't check my diffs

Guess I'll stop being lazy and put it on the lift at the shop.

They did say there was only one greasable zerk on my 17 trd sport 4x4 and it was already greased, but I can't verify yet till I jack it up and pull the handle on my own grease gun.

They weren't busy, I just think the mechanic tried rushing me out.

 

For real, I wouldn't expect a dealership service department to let you know that your transmission casing is cracked and all drained out. So expecting them to actually check diff fluid (even if I asked them to) is a moot point. The unfortunate nature of it I guess.

 

but it's so easy to pull a bolt out and stick a finger in and be like, damn that things wet.. good to go.. eh

like i said guess i'll do it myself..

 

Easy, yes. Easier to not do it. lol
