Finding a house both you and your wife like, good location and can afford....

 

my wife and I looked for a while. I told her I wasn't moving to Chelsea. Her and the realtor showed me a house they liked. walked down the stairs to a finished man cave and bathroom. put an offer in the next day. Of course it sat bare minus a small tv and a couch until I could afford to furnish it well. Never paid attention to the small kitchen, small extra bedrooms, and other things I should have been looking at. Pay attention to the things you cant change like size of the rooms and such. Also, get the most expensive, best reviewed home inspector you can find.

 

When we bought our house the home inspector was bad and the basement flooded 2 months later. New stairs, walls, floorboards, and paint
