I thought it was low speed, maybe I'm wrong who knows. It does what I need

Nah another reason I didn't go icon. Ads was the only shock with both digressive and progressive dampening. Progressive on the compression and digressive on the rebound.

Aren't most shocks valve the opposite for the rebound?

Such as this basic illustration. It's been far too long since I researched suspension for dirt bikes. Lol

What marie sent to Warren and what Warren sent to me, which I in turn asked her about to confirm.

I find it helpful to provide a general comparison of the various coilovers so you can compare them side-by-side.

The Kings come standard as a standard travel (they can be built at extended travel) and a reservoir and have optional compression adjustors. The come built with a 600 lb spring rate but can be built with a higher spring rate per your specifications. They have steel body and aluminum components. They have a progressive valving. They come preset to provide around 2.5" of lift on the 05-15's and around 1.5" on the 2016+ models. They can be adjusted to provide more or less lift depending on what suits your needs.

Icon have stock coilovers that can be built with extended (requiring ucas) or standard travel with and without reservoir and compression adjustors. They come standard with a 650lb spring rate but can be upgraded to a 700lb spring for an additional fee. They have steel body and aluminum components. They have a digressive valving which some feel can provide a stiffer on-road ride quality, depending on terrain and speed. They come preset to provide around 2.5" of lift on the 05-15's and around 1.5" on the 2016+ models. They can be adjusted to provide more or less lift depending on what suits your needs.

The Fox's have stock coilovers in standard travel or extended travel (requiring uca's) and they come with or without reservoirs and compression adjustors. They come standard with a 600lb spring rate. If you wanted a higher spring rate they would have to be sourced separately. They have steel body and aluminum components. They have a progressive valving which some feel can provide a plusher on-road ride quality, depending on terrain and speed. They come preset to provide around 2" of lift on the 05-15's and around 1" on the 2016+ models. They can be adjusted to provide more or less lift depending on what suits your needs however due to their design it is required to make the adjustments off of the vehicle and utilize a spring compressor to take the tension off of the collar.

ADS utilizes similar components in their OE lines as they do their race lines so that is a nice benefit. ADS comes standard as a standard travel (they can be built at extended travel) and a reservoir and have optional compression adjustors. The come built with a 650 lb spring rate but can be built with a 700lb spring rate at no extra charge. They have steel body and aluminum components. Their OEM bolt in Tacoma coil-overs are digressively valved on the rebound side and run progressive valving on the compression. The main reason for this is to give you the stable ride for on road and less of the harshness when traveling off-road. They come preset to provide around 2.5" of lift on the 05-15's and around 1.5" on the 2016+ models. They can be adjusted to provide more or less lift depending on what suits your needs.

    Progressive vs Digressive:

Progressive dampening progressively gets more firm as the shock shaft Velocity increases. Digressive shocks have more firm dampening at lower shaft velocity, and softer dampening at higher shaft speeds.

Progressive rate CO's ride much softer on the street, and off road at speeds below 20 mph (depending on terrain), while the Digressive CO's give a more firm ride on the street, and at speeds below 20 mpg off road (once again, depending on terrain). Off road at speeds over 25 mph, the digressive shocks are great. You can re valve the digressive shocks to be a little softer in the "low speed" dampening, which gives a better on road ride, and still maintains the high speed dampening characteristics.

Images like this is also why when guys like us talk progressive and regressive dampening we really do not know what we are talking about or what all goes into valving and just going on from "what we read on the internet" all your aftermarket shock companies are great at what they do and no matter what flavor you choose it will do something better than the other guy and vice versa. It is impossible to have valving set up perfectly for every situation.

In dirt bikes people take their time with papers for notes, oil amounts and weights, as well as nitrogen charge all while having a table of assorted shims.

It's a pita why I pay factory connection who does free revalves till you hit the sweet spot for your terrain, style, and ability.

    Google suspension bible.

I don't claim whatsoever to be a suspension engineer. Nor to understand the physics to a point to validate my brand over another. I simply know ads put a lot of time into making the on road ride quality amazing, with great off road capabilites.

We need a side shot of all shocks cut open and you'd be surprised how similar most are.

Could probably get some from a distributor on ones that came back from warranty or something if you tell them you're going to cut them up for a science project or something.

Just like most supercars/HyperCars. The higher level of performance you go, the less differentiation there can be.

See if headstrong sent you that then they're pushing ads, probably bigger profits though just speculation.

"Ads uses similar components in oe shocks as race shocks" blah blah.

    Taken straight from king

Built with the same quality of materials and precise tolerances found on our high end race shocks our OEM upgrade kits enable you to experience the famous King ride quality on your daily driver or prerunner.

Built with race winning design features our kits come complete

I know I was thankful @Otis1382 sent it to me. I was going ads because of the group buy truthfully. This just reaffirmed, and made my decision even more validated.
