loom = engine bay?

 

It's really just more of an aesthetic thing. I don't thing there is too much, unless your battery cant handle the load obviously, but I like the cleaner look. Plus, you can run a circuit breaker in between the battery and fuse box to shut everything off.

 

It protects wire from engine heat, prevents it from melting

The wire zip tied to the factory electrical harness has a plastic loom over it

yeah screw that stuff. cali raised sends harnesses wrapped in insulation and whatnot..good to go.

Stacked connectors on the battery can cause feedback. When I have my CB on and turn on my light bar, I get feedback. Giving everything a better line to the battery without going through other connectors is better.

I was running a bearcat 880 CB, but it apparently decided to die in Moab. Going to open it up and see if I can find any bulged capacitors or such

 

but all of your stuff is just straight to the battery?

 

Currently yes. So if you give the power a rail and connect everything to the rail, all the connectors just feed from the rail. If you stack connectors on a post, the power feeds through the connectors therefore creating a dirty power connection.
