May have to try Gander right quick. Thanks!

You know that store isn't actually on the list of closures in Alabama. Marcus Lemonis on the show "The Profit" bought Gander Mountain and is restructuring it. Apparently they are selling off all inventory and starting over. I saw the list a while back and Opelika wasn't listed on there so who knows. Seems that store was always dead though. Kinda bad we finally get a store like that here and people don't support it.

Right, they are going to re-open under the name Gander Outdoors. They hope to be open before Christmas. Since Camping World owns them now the parking lot will be slap full of Campers I would assume. Should be interesting to see. I dunno how well a Gander Outdoors/Camping World will do around here although the closest one I can think of is North of Atlanta. I wasn't that impressed with that store.

The prices were way high, when they marked everything down 30% prices became comparable to other stores.

Spot on with that Mike. The ammo they had left was still stupid expensive though.

I did pick up some Columbia shirts for work a few weeks back from there stupid cheap. Like 18 bucks.

They didn't have much of anything there. Like 5 handguns and all were missing something off of them or the cocking mechanism didn't work. One was missing the take down pin. How the hell do you lose a take down pin off a new gun??? Isn't there a Camping World in Dothan? About the only place I know of here for campers is is the one on 280 between Smiths and Opelika so competition may be a good thing. I've never been in a Camping World so I can't really say either way.

They have some shoes left and a few adult clothes. Some fishing stuff with a few poles. Lot of Okuma fly fishing reels and one Abu reel missing the handle. Quite a few sleeping bags and a few tents. Good bit of rifles and one AR for $749 that was $1200. I might should have grabbed a fly reel for a saltwater/bass build. I wasn't going to stand in line for a reel though.

I didn't even look at the guns. That's a good deal for that AR, not in the market for one though. I bet the scopes and stuff went quick! The camping world we went to only had stuff for RV's. That's it. I was expecting something along the lines of REI and was completely mistaken. That's probably why I was disappointed. I think camping world should be called RV camper world. The name is misleading.

They still have some scopes left. Now that you mentioned it I should have seen if they had one for my AR. To me the ammo prices were just getting down to where they should have been all along. No .223 left at all but plenty of .45, .380, .357 and .38

So I just had to remove 2 guns and 3 knives from my truck so I can get onto the arsenal tomorrow. I feel extremely unprotected. :pout:

Edit: and I have 13 knives I carry in my pocket (a different hobby of mine) none of which are under 3" blade length. Which is the regulation.. :pout::pout::pout::pout:

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
