I was like 21 haha! No I've never been able to handle open wound type stuff. Blood doesn't bother me, but the though of seeing inside a wound or like when someone loses skin and seeing under makes my stomach turn.

My mother was like that. One time when I was a kid we took a trip to Gatlinburg. We were all ice skating and my Dad took a tumble. His glasses cut into his cheek when his face hit. White ice, red blood. It was like leatherface did a ballet in between all the ice skating folks. Blood everywhere. Didn't really bother me at all but my Mom hit the floor like she was sniped from 200 yards. Still remember it clearly. Took the EMT's forever to wake her up. Dad got stitches and mom got smelling salts. Quite the vacay!

Open wounds are tough to look at I'll admit. I think it was more a blood issue with my Mom.

I'm terrible. I did, this year walk past the front of a blood drive bus and not grow weary. I legitimately was in the diagnostic imaging program at Wallace and when I started observations, passed out twice within the first hour and the workers told me I might consider and new major. (before you say "there is no blood or anything in ct scans and mri's and such" I thought the same thing, but then a lady came in that morning to get her gal bladder scanned and they had a needle like 4 feet long full of dye they had to put in her and I hit the floor :anonymous:)

lmao. I give blood every chance I can. As long as I don't physically watch the needle enter my skin I'm good.

I have higher iron so it actually makes me feel good for a few weeks to get rid of some of it. Less headaches, typically lower body temp. It's nice.

lol it's like anywhere else in Alabama. everywhere is capable of being hit but the northern areas above huntsville have been hit more than huntsville itself. that's all I was meaning earlier.

Pop Quiz! Do you know why areas north of Birmingham typically see more tornadoes than south of Birmingham?

    I guess that's my concern.

The house I grew up in was hit in 1989 - many years after we moved out of it.

something about the path, like the northern part has a direct route from the tuscaloosa area for tornadoes and such right?

Yep you're on the right track. Its because of mountains. Storms typically move from West to East. The ridge below acts almost like a barrier and funnels the weather along the north side of the ridge. That's what I learned at the EMA anyway.
