It's cheaper for the state to shut everything down for the 1-2 days per year, than fund/maintain all the equipment necessary to keep the roads clear.

 

but it's cheaper to not shutdown, and not have road clearing equipment, and just let dumbasses add decoration to the side of our roads with their vehicles. THEN THEY can pay somebody to come tow their car, which creates jobs.

was that the major snowstorm we had? I wasn't even 2 at the time, but we had a fish survive being frozen in our fishtank. When it thawed he was the only one that came back to swimming. Lived 12 years. Stupid little walmart fish lol

 

I understand what you are saying - and it is very frustrating. Georgia is the same way - especially after the incident a couple of years ago when the bigger than expected storm hit.

You know, back in the day, the city would shut down for the day with snow. No panic, Armageddon or anything like today - people would just stay home. Those of us adventurous types would go 4 wheeling. Ah, I miss those days.....

Now all we hear about are people "that are going to die" because of ????? $hit, die already, let me get back to having fun in the snow!

 

well, there needs to be something put in place where that doesn't happen lol.

 

Are they cancelling a Christmas Parade because it's cold? I have a buddy that lives in Silverhill and he said the temp Friday was supposed to be 29. They had an outdoor Christmas party planned for his office hahaha!

She's my wife and we have fun. It's hard to hear her but she's always saying something funny in the background.

Rob you remember that snowstorm in March of 93? That thing was ridiculous. We had 6' snow drifts in Opelika

 

IIRC, there was a major snowstorm here in the winter of 1993. I wasn't living here at the time, but remember people talking about it.

Actually I lived in NC in '93, so I missed it.

I drove a Jeep Wrangler back then, that would have been fun.

 

Huntsville and Birmingham received 12"+ of snow. It was about 6 or so inches here. Backyard Football was the beezneez that day!!!
