I would recommend a cheap brake controller, but it's possible to haul it.

I think the 3rd Gens are rated at 6k to 7k towing. 2nd Gen should be around that.

 

I hauled an 87 lincoln town car on it. It took a mile to stop but it hauled it. I do have a bit more power than you do but it would do it it if you took it easy.

 

My trailer is to old for those fancy trailer brake things lol

He had esophageal reflux which could be mimicking one, but his blood pressure was 170 and it’s gone down to 132 now

Around here, we call it the Space and Rocket Center, it is really cool to see the Saturn 5's they have. Good museum. I've heard good things about the US Veterans Memorial museum also, but I haven't been there yet.

With the kind of weight you’re looking at you’ll need new suspension. If you don’t you’ll just about be riding on the bumpstops, hit them on every bump in the road and it won’t be anything close to a comfortable ride. Dakar lights (95R) would carry the load without too much lift and 5100s with 885s would probably work for the front. The front springs would be compressed with the weight you’re adding to the truck so the amount of lift would be fairly minimal and work well with the Dakars.
