I understand that. I lived in an apartment for almost 4 years without the option of a grill and was stuck with just a foreman if I wanted anything like that. Once I bought my house and got a grill I retired the foreman. Haha I was so excited to have a grill when I first got it I used the damn thing like a stove to heat up soups....justified it by making myself think I was giving my beef stew a "smokey" flavor if I heated it on the grill:rofl::anonymous:

lol no no, I told her I didn't want her to spend that kinda money. it was just one we were both looking at, I probably would've pitched in towards it. It just has all the features I want, plus the random charcoal holder haha

I've tried cooking in cast iron on a stove, but I smoke up the whole house. What am I doing wrong?

I've tried doing flank steak a couple of times on a cast iron grill pan. Last time though the fire department showed up :/ The steak was good though. I don't think I did anything weird. I seasoned the meat with a dry rub and butter and oiled the pan.

:rofl:Did you feed them for their trouble? HAHA

Me personally I keep the oil and butter to a minimum. When I do flank steak for my stir fry or anything I use the hot and fast technique. You cant really cook flank steak like normal steak and you aren't going to "cook out" the flavor of it since there isn't much to begin with so I crank up the heat and cook it fast almost like searing it to cook it. Regular steak I keep the heat pretty high as well since my purpose is to sear the outside then throw it in the oven to finish cooking the inside. Butter, rosemary, garlic, wine reduction and its perfect! DAMN I'm hungry now!

It's a very nice grill. Look on Craigslist. Buddy at work found one for 100 bucks. People buy them and then decide they don't have time for charcoal so they get rid of them. He loves his. Can't go wrong with a Weber Kettle. The ash catcher on it would be really nice
