You can see the crack in the windshield on the left when I pull back into the back at the end. lol

My stereo also shows up in the reflection. Have to do something about that maybe.

That looks like it'll be more than enough for what I'd need.

Yeah I think I'll be satisfied with it. Plan on looking at the footage after I get home in the morning too to see what it looks like in the daylight also. I'll upload another one for you then to see how it does.

I appreciate it. I wonder if I could get that dual camera one to work with one of those backup cameras that mount over your tag. After getting rear ended in the TJ and still fighting with the insurance company for 4 months. I wonder if a video would have help speed things up.
They already have a letter stating that it's totaled congruent to Al code. The estimate was for 12K......and they're still fighting it. I never even went to the ER to run up a huge bill. All I asked for was the money to fix my Jeep and the initial tow/rental/storage. I'm lucky my best friend is a lawyer and he's handling it.

I'm not sure since most of the rear factory cams like that seem to turn off after so many minutes even when powered. The cable that runs to the rear camera is nothing more than a USB cable. You can probably get a longer one and run the cable out one of the grommets in the floor and back into the shell. The mount is sticky and will adhere to the window of the shell and the camera is adjustable for angle.

Then again it may be able to power any USB camera out there so you could buy the single if it has the rear cam USB on it. But then again it may not have the rear enabled in the firmware if you don't buy the dual.

I was thinking just get the dual camera rexing and a camera something like this. I was sitting at a red light when the dude hit me, so the camera would have been recording.

The main unit has a USB connection for the rear though. That has power and video feed in it. I'm not sure if a RCA and power wire can be converted to USB.

I just looked on their website and the rear cam cable is 20 ft long. If you ran it along the headliner straight back and down the side to the floor and out a grommet there may be enough cable to get back there. Could always get a 20 string and see what it can do.

It's pretty far down the list of "wants", so I've got plenty of time  I realized the other day when I was in some heavy rain that the truck needs some sound deadening, so when I start that, maybe I will have the camera and get it all in one go. I want to stay away from mounting it in my shell so that I can take it off/on if I want. Hell, I'd be willing to bet that it would see well enough threw the shell mounted in the cab.

I may just run mine down the side from the front to get it to the back. Have to see if there's enough room in the headliner to store the extra cable up there. I'm not sure how much trouble it's going to be to try and run it through the headliner anyway. May be easier to just run along the bottom side channel by the doors to get it back there. I may do it next shift if I get motivated. Haha I'm not big on having things in the lighter plugs up front anyway so my install is just temporary and the plug has a push button on and off switch on the end so I can see my coffee cup hitting it and turning it off. My phone charger is on the passenger side plug so that one wasn't available. I'm not even too hot on it being in there. May look into seeing if someone makes a USB plug that fits the mini switch panel under the A/C controls and move the phone to that plug.

Funny how my list of needs/wants are determined by if it's on sale at a good price.

I may or may not have dipped into the business account a few times. :anonymous:
