Finally washed my truck this weekend. 10 bucks the landscaper's come by the office today and cover it with pine straw and parking lot debris.

 

can you give a review on what kinda abuse this thing can handle!

Mine was with a suppressed .22lr pistol.

My suppressed 300blk is still too loud for residential Huntsville, with ATF Agents living a few doors down. Although, last week another neighbor went full Rambo on one with a 12ga, around 10pm...

The only problem with that is, I was the one receiving txt’s asking if I got it...

I was outside hunting at the time, but swear is wasn’t me.

 

the problem with building your own furniture is it's not made cheaply and it's heavy AF..

Nope. I was at home. And I think my truck was too. Hopefully at least. lol.

Hoping my next job will be a little more of a hands on engineering job. Not sure I want to weld all day. I enjoy it, but I don't want to get up and have to do it and then hate it.

For you guys with the high clearance rear bumpers on your truck (@stronghammer, you're the only one I can think of...), how bad was cutting your fenders? Any particular steps outside of marking the line and cutting? I have to do that next before I can move on with my bumper build.

 

Tis. That's why I make it to come apart in to 4 pieces that "only" weigh ~50 lbs

I used to have a hook up on reclaimed spruce which saves about 1/3 the weight of pine and I got it at about half of what Lowe's sells for but the guy I knew no longer works that job...

 

I didn't actually cut mine, the guy that installed it for me did. Just tape it off and use a cutting wheel on a right angle grinder, easy peasy.

 

I really need to start drinking... never thought I'd be cutting my fenders off of my truck for a diy bumper I built at home. Lol.

one cut and you'll be good to go. I'm at snorkel, fenders, and bumper cuts now.

 

I was about to ask how much of that you had left. Haha.

I'll probably get a snorkel at some point too. That'll be fun. Need to find a way to convince my wife that its worth it though. She thinks they look hideous...

 

Meh, @Sandytaco14 cut his 3rd gen no problem. Measure twice, tape 2341729378592 times and let her rip...maybe a bad choice of words but you get it. Also, @Sandytaco14 I just got a reminder that we installed your C4 front bumper a year ago this weekend

 

Thats pretty much it but make sure you leave a 1/4 inch gap in case there is any movement. Measure thrice, cut low once, them do your final cut. Use masking tape over a wide area where you are cutting.

 

snorkels are well worth it since Toyota was a dumbarse on where they located the air intakes.
