Agreed. You notice any performance gains such as a drop in intake temp?

Since I'm cutting before the bumper is actually done, I can make sure that 1/4 inch gas is designed in to the wings. So that shouldn't be a problem. Movement is often overlooked though.

 

it did provide more space in the engine bay for other stuff on 2nd gens, pre-2012..

Unfortunately, I have that air pump under the hood I have to deal with.

 

I think with my MT, I've got even more room than the AT. I have a lot of room to play around with in there.

I think the big question is how much does a snorkel restrict air flow into the engine?

 

Or how much does the large tube, forced air negate the extended tube length? If memory serves me correctly, the intake is only about 1.5 inch diameter under the fender.

 

OR how much does it prevent rocks/debris/dust from being thrown into my air intake because of no inner fender?

the answer = 99% improvement over stock intake.

ALSO how many overlander points does it give me?

the answer = 1 more than anybody else without one.

Not sure I would do it that way. We cut once, fitted the bumper to see where we stood and then made final cut.

 

Mine thought the same thing. That’s why I installed it at work and brought it home. Surprise!

I've already got the problem of too many dudes gawking at my truck. Maybe its time for a snorkel to get attention from the women. Who knows, maybe my wife will like it. Lol.
