    Thanks! That was very thorough.
    I'm still not getting why the back can't be dropped enough to pull the cable through with a hook?

    Also, are there any known cases of the NMO mount coming loose because it didn't have a backing? I don't have a clue where to get a plate like that to reinforce it with, or if my mount would accept the extra thickness. Never heard of someone doing that before.
