I like to use front locker before I need it, just to make the truck work less.

At my old house, I got locked out of the house in the carport. It was a door that opened out, so I thought no big deal, grabbed a nail and hammer and popped the hinge pins. Damn thing had the security tabs. So I was like, "HA!, think you'll get me." Grabbed my drill and was through the lock in less than a minute. Total time from realizing I was locked out until I was back in was about 3.5 minutes.

plan your build, buy front first to level, then rear.

I bought my lift used, everything on my truck has been done in steps. No one throws thousands of dollars at one time. at least no one in this thread.

i'm on really expensive suspension only running 265/75r16, but I've only got 220 in my wheels and tires with an extra rim because I sold my stocks so soon.

just be patient and be prepared to jump on deals when they appear.

also everything else I'm not much into overlanding.

most people look at my truck and think it's not much offroad, but I can hold my own offroad.

be plain and simple not flashy and heavy. Instead of shower and stove and all that jazz buy a small used camper.

I want a teardrop or even a 16' airstream, used of course, because those things are pricey.

Overlanding is basically a competition to see who can make their mid size truck weigh more than a 1/2 ton.

ask @Jerneyman, I feel he was wondering how I was doing stuff so easily at Chocco, it's because my parts are quality yet, not flashy. He had no idea I was locked F&R lol

I was always a fan of the "sleeper" style. I'm curious how much a front locker would help me though. What I've read/heard is with auto trans on 4lo with MTS on (or 4hi even w/o mts), traction control should be acting as a front locker anyway, by applying the brake on the spinning wheel.

I just listed my old BFGoodrich KO2s on facebook marketplace btw. I'd still sell them to anyone on here if they want them.

    4 285/70/17 KO2s with probably 10k miles left.
    1 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer R/T brand new.

    Just lemme know!

no, in no way does it simulate a locker. there is no replacement for a front locker.

same as a rear locker, with the truck completely unlocked a 4x4 is really only pulling with 2 wheels, so rear locker 3 wheels, front locker 4 wheels.

there's just no way to simulate a locker other than being locked.

edit: it's just a fancy traction control..

My fantasy football team is in shambles. All of my running backs hurt. Best kicker was just fired (or was he the best). Julio isn't being thrown the ball and I got no answers for my defense. Gonna be a long fantasy season.

I can fix this. I'll mount a ham antenna and a waffle iron on my motorcycle so I can talk to the California guys while eating waffles in the forest. Stay tuned for pics tonight.
Edit: Make it a 3D printed waffle iron while we're at it.

see if marlin crawler will do it

also local 4wp said if I provided my lockers and just dropped truck off they'd do it for $1000, not too bad, I just decided to tackle the project.
