Is the baby in daycare on a regular basis?

Years ago, my daughter was always getting sick with some sort of "flu thing", from that petri dish... :angrygirl:

Hey all, I'm planning to regear to 4.88 and I passed by Rocket City Offroad yesterday. The guy said 3 days and $400 per axle. Was thinking of going with the current 22% off TW group buy and having RCO install it. Is RCO the place to go in N. AL for regear or is there a better option in Nashville/Bham or anywhere else relatively close?

I ask about RCO because I wasn't sure he was giving good advice on suspension. He said I couldn't cut my CMC anymore than it is now, and he said putting in new shocks to lift it another 2 inches would probably rub more. That doesn't make sense to me. He was pushing a 6 inch lift, but I don't want it that high.

I'm not sure how lifting it 2 inches will make it rub more. Here's some pics:

Seems like there's still at least 1/4" more that can be cut off
    cmc1.jpg
This is full lock where the -18 offset on 9.5" wheels make it rub just slightly in reverse
    full lock.jpg

    Here it is wheels straight

is it 400$/axle just for labor? or is that parts too?

you can def cut CMC more than that. mine is chopped an assload more for my 35s.

$400 per axle for labor only. I'd supply the gears.

He said they've regeared Tacomas before. Since it's such an important intricate process, I'm just paranoid about who does it.

Trying to avoid driving over to ECGS since it's 9 hours.

if you have another DD, ship your diffs to ECGS. I just did it, fairly simple process.

I'm not sure about RCO, but there is a place off of HWY 72 and I heard good things about this guy.

    It's my only ride :(

Not sure I want to swap diffs myself either. Installing JBA UCAs which is basically 2 bolts took me 6 hours - mainly due to the long bolt interference.

I didn't ask, but should have. Before I make my choice on who to go with, I'll definitely ask.

Well RCO has given me a lot of their opinions on things and most of it didn’t pan out. I kept telling them I wanted to get some 0mm offset 4.5 backspacing wheels for my 33’s and they kept saying it would rub the brakes and UCA’s and blah blah blah and I just needed TRD Pro wheels and I got my AR 23’s and no rubbing at all. Lol also told me to skip on a coilover lift and get Bilsteins and use the stock coils to get more lift. Didn’t agree with that either

Over the summer, he hired the son of a friend of mine and from what I understand, he's retired LE and a very honest guy.

He told Tyler that if he still worked there after 3 years, he'd be fired because he should be in college and making a better future for himself.

Brakesplus was extremely friendly and helpful over the phone, but they want $1290 for labor on the regear.
