Well the way he was talking, he hasn't done Tacomas before so he wasn't sure how complicated it would be. He said he can do jeeps in 1 day, but would need 3 for the Tacoma.

Below is the quote ECGS sent me. I told them I wanted REM polished, but they don't sell REM polished gears. I'd have to buy it and ship it to them.

He said the quote doesn't include the rear gear ($350) since I'd be buying it elsewhere to get REM polishing. I'd think the front would need to be the same though.

 

Is re-gearing worth it?

I had a NASA welder do it initially, but I gave him the BAMF instructions posted on TW and he followed them perfectly. Only problem is those BAMF instructions don't cut into it too much, so I need it taken back a bit more, yes. New plates would need to be made again.

 

I'm on 33s now, but after adding a front bumper/winch, plus RTT, fridge, clothes, gear, etc. It's going to be heavy.

 

Well if you got a guy already, feel free to have him weld it for you. Just figured I'd offer my services if you needed them!

 

Why didn't they test your wife? Might have helped decide if the baby was false positive or not..

I got the flu shot last year, and still got it. Was by far the most mild flu ever, and was only diagnosed because I happened to go in for a suspected ear infection and started getting more symptoms in waiting room. I thought I was just imagining the symptoms from sitting around all the other sick people, but they wanted to test anyway, and sure enough I had it.

CDC on GBS for those interested. I can't find their reference data, but the text claims 1-2 extra cases per million flu vaccine doses.

 

She hadn't ran a fever at all and only had a cough. Not sure what the deciding factor was for them to not test her.

 

she could've asked to be tested. they probably just didn't see the same symptoms.

 

Just my opinion but if it were mine I would get ECGS to do it. They have been doing it a long time and do several a week and have a 5 year warranty.

For a tire size increase regearing is better than more power from the engine. More power puts more stress on everything. Regearing takes the stress off of everything in front of the diffs including the diffs.
