Since i work out of my house and we usually take my wife's car out of town for trips, the tires are just about brand new. They are 265/65 18 BFG Rugged Terrain's. I would like to go to 275/65 18 or 275/70 18. I haven't really decided since i just did the lift and switched out the wheels. I have been thinking about putting them on Craigslist but have been dragging my feet a little. Gotta let the wife settle back down....lol

When i put the 2.5/1.5 DS Spacer lift on, i did it mostly to level it out and get a little bigger tire. i only had it on for about a year, but it really seemed that the front sagged. That might have also been because my truck is almost 10 years old and has 130k on it. The stock springs were probably pretty worn. I finally decided to scrap the Xreas system. I ended up finding a great deal on a set of Bilstein 5100's for all 4 corners. I went with OME 884 springs in the front and Toytec Superflex springs in the rear. I did use my DS 1.5" spacer on the driver side rear to compensate for the lean. So far it has settled really good to just about level. I think it ended up being around 3"/2".

I've got a buddy running the superflex coils and some icon shocks on a 4th gen, non v8. He really really likes those springs. I bet it rides nice.

I hear ya. It was almost ALMOST cheaper for me to get 5 new rims in 16's and 5 new tires, than it was to get 18's. Them suckers are spendy! Shipping was what killed it though on the wheels. That and I really like the factory 18's.

I actually know someone looking for used 18" tires in good shape. I'll shoot you a PM.

It seems to ride really nice. The Xreas system that was on it was pretty nice but this is a different ride. It is a little more stiff, but feels like a quality ride.

Yeah, tires for 18" wheels are pretty pricey. Until i got these BFG's, i had been running street tires. These BFG's ride better and are more quiet than all the different road tires i had run.

I was SHOCKED when I picked up my truck today. The tires that were on it were 265/60/18's and were P rated I think. They were shot with only like 28k miles on them. I put 275/70/18 E load MT's on it, and it drives great. I was expecting them to be harsh, but it's just right. Planted, but not harsh at all.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
Thats good. I just pulled the trigger on a fridge and its going to stick out about 8" past counter. Online dimensions said it was 36.5" deep, store brochure said it was 33" deep, tape measure said it was 32". Moral of the store, don't trust online specifications for appliances.

Speaking of houses, there's somebody that bought a 42 acre 3br/1.5bath property here in 2006... They were asking 30 above what they paid in 06 for it. Now they're asking what they paid for it. (Still listed since at least march of this year, but it could have been a re-listing.

Give me a break! We had a little thing called a housing meltdown, guys.

price of land never went down though....... housing crisis primarily hit suburbs and new developments in subdivisions..... like i was told by my broker, "land prices never fall only rise, cuz its not like they are out building land everyday"......

Price of everything went down, because everything was overvalued. That's what a boom and bust is, Justin. In any case, there's a house on it. It isn't worth what it was right before the peak, period. And my case for that is backed up by the fact that they can't sell it.

Lol, I'm not actually mad. Just a little tired of hearing that kind of nonsense. The market ground to a halt and nobody's buying. The only reason values haven't dropped further is banks holding back assloads of foreclosures that still haven't hit the market yet.

If you can't tell, our realtor has spouted the same crap at me. :) If the house were still worth the same, don't ya think it'd have sold? We went through the same garbage in Raleigh, they wanted to sell a house that was falling down for what they paid for it (in presumably better condition) at the peak of the market.

(And when we made our offer for 30-50k less, they wouldn't even negotiate, and said they'd received dozens of offers at that price. Hello?! Maybe the market is telling you your stupid house is no longer worth what you think, dickheads!)

only reason i spouted "that crap" as you called it is because i just got through selling about 20 acres of land in the middle of BFE for about a 32% profit from where i purchased it in 2006(which is if you rem right at the peak of the housing boom). but im sure you can prove how that is wrong and all cuz those of us that spout off nonsense have no basis to speak from..... right? but silly me went and took that profit and merely bought a different, larger parcel of land to sell for a profit again....... hey i may jsut loose my backside on it but ive only had it for 3 months and have gotten offers on it twice so far......

Well, hey, good for you buddy. :) If you got someone to buy it, great. I'm just annoyed at people looking down at our offers (and dozens of others) because they think their property is worth more than it is.

I mean, I'm demonstrably right, as far as what I'm talking about, because these properties BOTH haven't sold in a year, are still available, and nobody has offered what they want for it.

To rephrase what I meant, you're probably / possibly / idk right about acreage in the middle of noplace. I'm looking at a house on acreage just outside of town, and it definitely has devalued. Everyone trying to tell me otherwise can go ahead and explain why nobody is paying 2006 prices.

Also, I never said not to buy property right now... I think it's a great time, that's why I'm trying to do it!

Our neighbors did this, but they ended up getting some schmuck who paid them near asking. I'm not complaining, because it helped values in the neighborhood, but I mean DAMN. We paid close to $30k under asking when we bought in '09, and the previous owner took a bath on it, and I've still lost about $10k in equity or so according to comps that a realtor friend of mine pulled. Bottom line is anything's worth what someone will pay, and if you're listed and ain't sellin, it ain't worth it.

Now... about this land, Justin. I have a chainsaw, you have a pickup, and I've got a cruiser. We know lots of people with pickups. What say we cut some trails?

i have a whole fleet (so to speak) of chainsaws at my disposal, and NO. not happenin. no offense to ya personally keith, but you know my mindset and it doesnt line up with most that have trucks and would want to ride. if i knew it would only be a hand selected and kept peaceful then i would consider it, but we all know as soon as the pics hit so would the badmouthing, plus untouched is more valued.

Well dang, I didn't realize I got your panties in a twist, dude.

Wow, yeah. Well, if someone is willing to pay it, I can't blame them for selling it at that price. That's just good negotiation.
