Haha technically I'm not an engineer, I'm a guy with a bachelor's degree in engineering. The state doesnt recognize me as an engineer.

 

Got to think for the future now. What if you moved down the line and needed a job somewhere but they’re only hiring a PE? Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Never know when something may come up. Never ever turn down advancing yourself for the better.

 

So you have to have a PE to be an engineer?

 

To be recognized by the state, yes.

 

I want to get more PM training and certs. Move away from engineering but still have the knowledge. If that makes any sense lol. I want to be a PM that knows how things work.

 

I was referring to your truck. I would love it for mine, but I'm not ready to take the plunge into non bolt on items.

Once that's there there's no removing it unless you grind the welds.

I would think that you'd want a design that welds to the frame for the bed cage for the bypasses.

On the bed cage that top plate has studs aligned on it to match up with a plate at the bottom of the bed rack part of it to where you're not full time bed racking.

Hope that makes sense.

But yeah, he went to school down there around the same time I did. Never knew him though some how. Speaks to how large the Mechanical Engineering department is down there.

 

Now I am thinking about long travel again. One great rig and if mentioned on here going to Moab in the winter he has done so. Here is a link where he was going to Top of the World during winter but turned back due to conditions and no one there to help out if any issues. I recognize some of those ledges!

I was fine with the truck and only had a issue with the Auburn Sticker.

 

If you ever get a chance...Hurricane Creek Trail up to Max Patch is an awesome overnight trip. Well worth the drive especially if you take the back highways going along the Ocoee through Cherokee National Forest, into Natahalla NF, and on into Pisgah NF. The night sky on top of Max Patch was mind blowing...first pic is overlooking Ocoee Lake in cherokee NF. Second at the Max Patch Summit. Some long exposure shots that night, then some shots of the Hurricane Creek Trail last. Got some good GoPro videos but havent pulled them off the camera yet.

 

It is a little crooked.

 

Snapped a shaft. Spent $1300 for a shop to try and fix it. They couldn’t. Finally rented shop time $$$, bought a stock one$$$, cut it up, Frankenstein’d the LT made it home.
