    A Tacoma 4 door with a 5' bed is 127.4" wheelbase and 212.3" overall.

I’d really like to explore and photograph the huge bank up there. The view from the top is awesome looking.

What are you looking for? There's tons of content on youtube. A document with step-by-step for programming in a repeater can easily be found with a quick search too.

You really want to just go ahead and get the programming cable though. Will save a lot of time, and you can easily click a few buttons to get all the repeaters in an area programmed at once.

I need to start from the beginning. How to scan stations. Which bands to use. What I can use with which licenses.

    yeah I found a page that said it's a 5 foot.

I mean 10" isn't a huge deal to me, plus it's still shorter than a Long Bed Tacoma, which can wheel just fine.

Approach and departure angles are still impressive, but look at the breakover angle 20.3 on the Rubicon vs 26 on the TRD Pro.

You need a technician license to transmit on pretty much any frequency (with a couple possible exceptions, but nobody will hear you there anyway), can listen to whatever you want.

Study for the license at hamstudy.org. It's easy, just read through all the questions, go through the flash cards until you're doing pretty well, try a couple practice tests, and take the test. It's easy if you just put in a couple hours a day for a week and take it that weekend. 5 year olds do it, apparently..

As for working the radio, it's probably easiest for you to just look it up on youtube to have someone show you how to work it. They're very popular radios, so there's plenty of content that's easy to find.

I'm willing to bet as far as the standard stuff goes....suspension, bumpers, etc....it'll be almost identical stuff to the wranglers.

sliders, bed mods, skid plates will be the differing stuff....but even when that stuff comes out there's really a set market price no matter what vehicle for that type stuff.

I'm at a love hate with it. It will need 37"s, a regear, and either an axle swap or sleeve and truss the heck out of the factory ones to look and drive right.
