I may be wrong too but I would hate for everyone to think it is 37 if it should be more, that is kinda important.
It may be 37 you may have smaller ubolts, IDK, that is why I post that chart with the different size ubolts and the torque they should be.
Just trying to help not prove you wrong.

This was in the back of my mind when I asked the question. I'm in a 2wd so it wouldn't be this entertaining but at highway speeds it would be a more spectacular failure.

Several different specs out there, If I was you I would measure the ubolts and find the spec for that size and grade.

If you go with a swingout for spare tire/etc, the Dakars will be needed. Especially if you load a bunch of stuff in the back or put an RTT on the truck. Sounds like a good plan and 33's are probably optimum for tires. I would go Kings over Icons (I already had to have my front ones rebuilt at just over 50k miles ).

Is it just me or does it seem like you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and just make a beefy hinge and let it act as a bed stiffener on that side.

 

You could. The issue is making sure the case pull bar can be pulled and the case has enough room to fully swing out. There isn’t a lot of room underneath.

 

I bounced pretty hard a few times. The whole riding area is like a trampoline, so not to bad.

 

Hmm, mine are doing fine with 70k on them. Did yours just start leaking or how did you determine they needed to be rebuilt?
