    Can someone tell me what CMC is? I've seen several references of getting a CMC done, but not sure of the lingo!

    CMC stands for cab mount chop. Generally when you run 33" or larger tires on a Tacoma you have to trim the part of the frame that holds the body at the rear of the front fender wells. If not the tires will rub on the mount and you will not be able to turn the wheel to full lock.

    Its super easy and takes 15 minutes with the proper tool. Some people don't like the thought of cutting a truck, but this is a small change that no one would ever notice.

    15 minutes with a plasma cutter then another hour to weld a plate and make it look nice. :welder:

    Yes and no for me. I can and sometimes do daily my truck, but more often than not I'm driving my 98 4runner as my daily.

    On 33s or smaller DD'ing the tacoma isn't much trouble, but being on 35s I usually just let me truck sit at the house lol

    Thanks for the reply yall. I feel a lot more comfortable asking you Bama folks questions, instead of out in the general forums! lol

    Sooo, is it all that difficult to add some new coils/shocks by yourself? This is something I've been pondering when the time comes!

    Its not hard at all. When I first lifted my truck I did it in my drive way in college. I'd definitely get some tall ish jack stands though. Makes the job easier.

    Thanks BamaTaco. I've watched some videos, but they make it all look easy! I'm looking to lift my front to even out with the rear, but don't want to go the spacer route. Preferably a new coil/shock combination and maybe move up in tire size to 265/70/17s.

    ditto on the tallish jack stands lol. my truck is so stupid tall now that that once I get the truck high enough to get the wheels off it has to come back down like 10" to sit on standard jack stands....it's annoying. need to get myself some larger ones..
