work starts next week for me and looking at a 5-6 week timeline, I'm thinking it will be more like 8 week but we shall see!

 

How bad is it going to effect your everyday living? Are you going to get to stay at home and just work around each other or are you staying with Amy during the reno?

 

not too badly really, I'll still be staying at home. I'm "moving" into one of my guest rooms to give them easy access to the master bathroom and I'll just have to live without a kitchen/living room. Moving all my stuff from the living room into other rooms. Fridge will be downstairs and I'll have a microwave, but no real cooking will happen. I plan to just buy groceries and just cook most dinners at Amys (she already knows this lol). There might be one week where they have to do some power outages that will affect me and I'll stay at her house that week.

I've been thinking about this all night. I think I have a combination of 2 or more problems.

#1 I'm not getting constant switched power from the fuse I hijacked. I used the "INJ" fuse under the hood.

#2 I don't have a good ground to the solenoid body. I need to check the continuity, but I am pretty sure I am getting ground because I get a 12V reading on the remote post when I jump from the positive post of the battery. Also, shouldn't it ground through the multimeter when I check it?

#3 Solenoid is bad. Even when I jump power from the battery to the remote post on the solenoid I get 12V readings on both power-in post and remote post, but I never hear it click and never get power-out post of the solenoid.

I think when I get home I am going to wire up a direct power and ground from the battery and see if that works.

if i had to guess expect it to cost as much as any other LT kit.

I'm going to take my best guess. $4000 LT kit, $2000 RCV, $2000 Marrack, and $1500 Coilovers. I'd say it's a 10k front end.

look at Solos kit and expect it to be the same as the XLT.

 

those LCAs are some bad mf'ers. the comparison in the 4runner and his tacoma was crazy.

 

I scrolled through that thread. Its an awesome system for sure. Some good innovation. However, I think I'd do a SAS for what it would probably cost. Would be able to get more travel and use "generic" coilovers instead of vehicle specific ones.

 

correct, I agree, but as some have mentioned in there...if you can't do fab work and would have to source all of that out...price might be better for the kit than SAS. limited market though. desert "prerunners" should be all about it.

 

That is a very good point. Guess a bolt on solution to run 37s or 40s even would sell like hot cakes no matter the price.

yep. I mean I have absolutely zero reason for long travel, but I'd sure as hell take that kit if I could. that's gonna cost more than my bathroom remodel though lol

I was interested in the +1 kit. All I'd be interested in would be getting that knuckle pushed forward to run larger tires, not really the LT aspect. But then again, go big or go home. haha

 

lol yep. I gotta get my tires to stop rubbing my UCAs at full lock...without adding more steering spacers lol.

I probably need to get with you about modifying my reservoir bracket as well just to relocate my reservoir, I don't rub it anymore but it's really close and I'd like to just be away from it if possible.
