Morning everyone.

Long night in the shop, then had to clean the shower like I promised my wife because I kept putting that off. Needless to say, I need caffeine.

 

Hahaha. Hell nah. Could if I fiddid have to build orders

 

I won't be doing an exocage or anything on this truck, as I said basically the extent that Andrew had his truck to is what I will get this truck to.

ordered the power rack and bench... now i need to go to Lowes and Tractor supply, I'm going to build a platform and mount the rack to it. deadlifts inside rack only.

I've got around 300lbs of bumper plates and a mini bar, hoping to find a deal on 7' bar and plates. so far i have under 1 year Golds membership in this lol. the platform will push me over that of course.

True, but deavers flex very well also. 63's are the king of flex. I dont know exactly what goes into them but i heard they are alot of work. But a solid choice.

 

Dobinsons has 3 levels. There top level is 3in of lift with 700lbs.

 

Mine are mid level and are 500-600lbs at 3in of lift. Deavers go up to 800+lbs i believe

 

Yeah, the work estimates I've been hearing are about 14 hours if you sort of know what you're doing. I can only afford that because I can do the work. I'd never touch it if a shop had to get involved.

The install include quite a bit though; shock relocation, shackle flip, new brake lines, limit straps... and it keeps going. Only think I'll be missing is an upgraded bump stop realistically.

 

I’ve been giving some thought to running an airbag system. Especially since I have onboard air now.

 

Also, keep an eye and ear open for the throw out bearing *chirp* as well. There is a cheap sleeve work around for that fix.

 

Cheap is a relative term when having to pull a transmission. Lol. I make sure and spend as much money on parts as I can when that thing comes out.

 

That's what I'm worried about. Before the clutch pedal went to the floor, the truck was making a chirping sound when I put it in neutral. It was getting louder too. At near 300K miles on it, I was wanting to put a new clutch in it anyway. But if just replacing the slave cylinder can get it driveable again, I'll do that first.

I had it on both my 05 and 07 tacomas and only got it fixed on my 05 because I was scared it was actually worse on the clutch than it really was. I had it for almost 1 1/2 years on my 07 without a problem at all. I will say though it is one annoying little bastard of a sound...especially in a drive through where the sound resonates off the wall!
