Alabama thread!

The lockout is very helpful on trails around here. It will pivot your truck around on a rock/tree and avoid destroying your bed.

 

I can do zero degrees. That’s no problem. The kickout is for pushing the truck away from rocks or tree to allow the wheel to clear easier. I like it because it provides a step to get in the bed.

 

Day TBD. It’ll be you, Chris, and me this far.

I was wondering what sliders look like from behind. If someone was behind me, could you see the kickouts extending from the sides?

 

You would. My sliders stick out another 3 inches or so at the kickout.

Thank you for those pics again! So yours stick out enough to help with stupid door dings from other idiots? I guess I'll find out soon when I link up with you to pay you for those chairs! I won't be doing any hard offroading any time soon, so I'm thinking zero degree with no kickout would probably work for me. Still unsure yet though, I guess I'll have to wait and see yours in person!

 

That's what I wanted to know! I don't want them sticking out past the fenders, maybe even with the fenders would be ok.

There you go! Now that's my style right there! Do they protect against door dings? I'm still in new truckitis mode, where I'm parking far away from other cars! lol

 

I just use my rear tire as a step and I can get anywhere in the bed! lol

 

I still park far away but, very confident that if I parked close someone would be surprised as hell is they opened their door against my truck. I went with no kick cause i like the clean lines.

 

That's more or less why I like the looks of the straight ones better. They look cleaner to me, but this is all just opinion too.

 

So I can support the load of the truck on these bolt on sliders? Like pick it up from the side with a forklift?

 

No idea cause I don’t have access to a forklift and not sure why I would be lifting truck with one. Good question for the builder.

Just to test the strength of it and see if there's anyway it can be pushed into your rocker panels. I work in a foundry, so I have access to forklifts galore. I've seen a pic somewhere, of a forklift picking the driver's side tires completely off the ground, with no movement or flex of the sliders.
