I like his fire and charisma so far, but of course he is only 2 days in. I am curious to see what he does with the players in the transfer protocol as well. I know he said he wants to bring Kira Lewis back but he made the comment at his press conference that "we probably don't want all of them back". Hopefully he can land a couple of transfers himself and can grab a few recruits we weren't expecting and have a solid first year. Unfortunately, he is coming from a mid major conference to a fairly loaded SEC with the likes of UF, LSU, AU, OM, MSU,SC, KY, and TN not looking like any of them are going anywhere anytime soon so he definitely has the odds stacked against him to have immediate success.

Wow yea what you said. We need to keep Lewis! Any news if we are going to be able to get his assistant that is so good at recruiting? I heard he probably was going to take over as HC at Buffalo. We need some recruiting bad.

Yea I had heard/read somewhere that Buffalo was likely to promote him to HC but not sure if it was official or not. I can't imagine being HC at Buffalo would pay much more than an assistant at Bama but he may not be all about the money. We definitely need help recruiting basketball players to Bama for sure. Unfortunately we don't have history on our side in bball that we do in football, along with the lack of players in the NBA from Bama. Outside Antonio McDyess, Robert Horry, Latrell Sprewell, Gerald Wallace, Mo Williams, Colin Sexton, JaMychal Green, and Alonzo Gee, I can't think of or name anybody else that has ever had NBA success.

Marginal risk of some pop up severe storms tomorrow near Florence to Decatur down to Aliceville. Just keep and eye out. You guys up north will mainly get thunder. Timing looks like from 1pm on. Storms will weaken as they approach Montgomery thru 1am on Sunday.

Always a fan of instate teams, all of them. Will pull for the best team to win only to have the best from the state to represent the state, whoever that may be. Can't see why anyone would want an out of state team to win. I'm a fan of making the state a better place not someones ego.

Saying that having an in-state team win would only improve the state and not the states ego is not accurate. That's what I inferred from your statement at least.

Alabama fan's ego is the exact reason I am NOT an Alabama fan. Sure, I could've picked another in state team, but I was a kid and my Mom was an LSU since she was born in Louisiana, and that persuaded me to be an LSU fan as well. Possibly could've been the complete opposite had I been born/lived in Louisiana. I simply did not like my experiences with football as a child in regards to Alabama football and that deterred me. The first influence was an out of state influence. This is also why I don't have much issue with Auburn though, as there are not many egotistical Auburn fans that I have run across in my experiences.

Does that help make sense as to why someone would pull for an out of state team?

LSU fans will go hand in hand with the ego of Bama fans at any LSU vs Alabama event.

I didn't say they wouldn't, but in my experiences and who I have to deal with/live around...the ego bar is set by Bama fans, and nobody else can touch it.

In my experiences and who I have to deal with/live around, the faux greatness ego that AU fans have, no one can touch that. Even AU fan's favorite AU alum (Charles Barkley) has said that AU will always be Bama's little sister and thats where their "little man syndrome" stems from.

I bet your experience would be different, if you had not been taught to be a bama fan from a young age. Everyone's experience is different, most often based on your location.

That being said...Alabama fans in this state believe all of the other fanbases have untouchable egos...but every other fanbase in this state believes Alabama has the untouchable egos....hm... 1 vs Many. lol

I would like to, but will be meeting for an extended period of time after work with my contractors so I'm not sure what my availability will be. If I can I will come by to help.

I understand people have their favorites. But what other people say and do, I do not let influence my decisions about wanting to do what is needed to improve the place I live. If I lived in Louisiana I would be an LSU fan too but I live in Alabama. On every team there are players from all over the country. There are even Louisiana people playing on teams in Alabama. Most of the time it's not even about the University or state it's just about people wanting to say they pull for the winning team.

@stronghammer, I am convinced we will never have a warm night for our games. Check the weather for next week/Tuesday.

You're right, but how much do you really think Alabamas football success actually improves the state? That money doesnt go anywhere but the program and the city of Tuscaloosa.
