    Sounds like the throttle position sensor or a coil.
    Try mashing the gas peddle about 50 times all the way to the floor. The throttle position sensor is a potentiometer and over time it can build up crap in spots causing it to not read correctly. Mashing it several times sometimes dislodges the crap, it could be a coil too. It could be a lot of things but for me most often it has been those two things that cause that problem.

    smash it to the floor while running or not? driving or parked? I just don't want this to backfire really badly..

    coil? like with the spark plugs?

    The coil sits on the passengers side of the engine, you have 3 coils, one on top of plugs # 1, 3 & 5

    if it's not something simple/noticeable, or fixable by mashing the pedal like Jeff said I'll probably haul it to my mechanic. I don't really have the time or money to deal with it right now. Not how I wanted to start Friday off.

    Tps is a very good possiblity as well. Ive never seen a coil cause that harse of a shake tho. But will cause a shake for sure

    Thats a good year to have, on a 01 or 02 the throttle position sensor can't be replaced, you have to replace the throttle body at $1400 each.
    All other models are about $25
