I'm about to join in on the tire/wheel discussion. Been contemplating moving up to 17 inch wheel and getting to proper backspacing for my setup. Spacers aren't cutting it for what I'm needing. Any idea what I could get for my wheels with the tires still on them? I've got the 16 inch TRD "faux" beadlock wheels with 285/75/16 General AT/X tires. I got the wheels for a good deal so I'm not really sure what all that's worth.

I've got a specific setup in mind, not sure I'd be able to trade someone outright for it. I guess I could always list them and see.

 

All true. I've also got 33s on mine and they've got maybe 15k miles on them. Could also be a good selling point to the right person.

I know, it blows. It's not going to kill me to keep it in the long run, but I'd rather have the money to start buying for our other camp setup stuff.

 

I'll definitely mark them up a bit and see what happens.

Anybody had any luck just running a set of Jegs Steel wheels? They're cheap and have the right specs I want which means I'd be more than able to afford the Coopers that I want. Not sure I want super "nice" wheels again when I intend on just running them in the rocks.

 

what size tire you gonna go with?

 

I'd like to step it up to a 34 if I get 17s. Haven't priced them out yet, and if it makes sense I'll just stick with a 33. Eventually 35s are in the cards but not yet.

 

have you found a good set of 34s? the coops I was looking at are the 34.5 which is what I'd like...but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 1,500 for a set of 5...

 

I'd be getting a set of 5 too. So idk. May just stick with a 33 until I've got new gears installed and broke in. I've still got to knock out the rear suspension too and not sure if I want to throw in 35s yet to make things even more difficult.

 

if you aren't geared yet, I can tell you from experience, stay 33s...

How big a price difference is it between 16 inch and 17 inch tires these days?

lol I don't need 5, I'd probably keep my 5th treadwright as a spare, just slightly oversized..

I just need to get past these damn house renovations so I can put money towards things I want again!!!
