Sounds like you're making a move for the better Scotty. I'd focus more on your plan of attack at your new employment. You're on your way out the door of your old employment. Out with old and in with the new!

Anything unknown is kinda scary/stressful. Go in and do what you do, to the best of your ability and knock their socks off! Go above and beyond until you establish a reputation for yourself. Then you can kick back and enjoy the perks of your position.

 

excellent advice, and tis my plans exactly. having a girlfriend be able to tell me who I'll be working with and really what the position will be has been wonderful. I'm more than ready for it.

 

Good luck man, I'm sure you'll do great! I'm the EHS manager here at my work, and I manage 7 employees, so I have a lot on my plate. If you ever need anything, just reach out and I'll help with what I can. Be sure to grow your network of people you know. In this day and age, it's not what you know, it's who you know.

 

100% who you know. I deal with EHS a little bit at work now, but our safety director really handles all of that. I am so trained up in safety I have to believe it helps my resume lol. I don't mind safety either, it makes sense.

 

Common sense ain't so common anymore. That's why we have safety rules in place, to protect the dumbasses who don't know any better. "Gee, I wonder what this button does?" "Ooops, I didn't know anyone was in the machine!"

I had grilled chicken, rice, steamed broccoli and and a tomato for lunch today.

 

I didn’t read all the advise but, thought I would chime in. Always give two weeks! If it is a busy time give longer especially if they don’t see it coming. I gave a 4 week notice due to tenure, the job i was in and timing. This allowed for them to make some preparations and bridges not to be burned.

 

they def don't see it coming...but policy requirement is 2 weeks. I will be able to make the best decision once my new manager actually calls me.

 

The tomato was home grown and soooo sweet! Damn those store bought tomatoes!
