Moab is one of those places where you just HAVE to go at least once in your life. Unfortunately the distance is pretty far from here, so unless I have a trailer and a tow vehicle, I won't be taking that chance. I do NOT want to be broke down that far away from home. Maybe in a couple of years I will be willing to go. If you do go though Brian, bring back lots of pics and video!!

Keith isn't a DCLB. Quite a few of the AC and DCSB had stock bumpers. Depending on how somethings go here shortly, I might not be able to go next year, but I'll be damn if I don't go the year after that.

well i know next year would be near impossible for me, hopefully new job and new house, but then the year after that would all depend on a "family meeting" to determine. But I think i would honestly rather drive so i could "see the sights" again. I know it would be faster and leave more riding time to fly and have the truck shipped but i think it would be much cooler and a heftier notch on your belt to say you drove it and survived!!

I would think no matter what, one would need a couple grand set aside for that trip, whether that be gas money or transport. Plus to get the rest of stuff like lodging and food on the way if you did drive it. Although by the time i may be ready i will most likely have free lodging in texas, cant rem if it is on the way or how far off the path it is so not sure if it would be worth it???

Approach and departure are the same aren't they? I guess longer wheelbase would be steeper on the obstacle by the time the bumper drags? Dunno. I didn't bang bumpers on anything, but I did use my hitch as a rock slider plenty coming off ledges and steep descents. As long as you're square though, the hitch just slides right on down. I never hung the rear wheels in the air, so it wasn't totally awful.

If you can make it out there, anyone, go. It's just a beautiful trip. Even if you don't wheel everything you want to, that part of the country is just gorgeous. We stopped plenty during the road trip just to take photos and take it all in. NW New Mexico, SW CO, and SE Utah are some of the most beautiful vistas I've ever seen. I really want to go back. I think next year the daughter will be old enough, so hopefully I can get the wife in on it.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
alright guys, I need some advice. My item that was lost by USPS started to gain a very fishy as I continued to talk with the post office. To make a long story short, I think someone pulled a quick one at the post office and stole the package.

Just in case, I started searching craigslist and an item just like mine (a milwaukee cordless sawzall) popped up for sale with a very brief description and a stock photo. I stupidly emailed him from my gmail which is linked to my google+, so if they happened to be using gmail, they would see my actual name associated with the email. After two days, I never received a response so I sent another stressing that I would like to meet asap. Ironically the ad had a price drop of almost 100 dollars. So at this point I decided to make a fake gmail that had an address to reflect my "profession" of making and repairing furniture. I emailed the poster of the ad and had a response withing 15 minutes. I have currently requested to meet him. I have pictures of the saw that I won on ebay and it has a few highly distinguishing marks on there.

So if it happens to be my item that was stolen, what should I do.

honestly, nothing. make up an excuse as to why you cant get it right then... had to spend part of the money on gas to get there whatnot... then see if you can get a quick ninja pic on your phone of the guy with the sawzall and identifying marks as you called it. (turn off shutter sound and say you are gonna try to call or text someone to meet you with some money. get the pic then proceed with cops or post office or whatever from there. just my opinion. bc then you will have proof of a possible employee with the stolen goods in hand. important thing is never blow your cover or you will never see the saw again, if it is indeed yours.

Bring a video camera, and not an obvious one. Record the whole thing. Also, bring a friend, just in case it is yours and you need backup. If it is yours, make sure you get a good description and his plate number when you call the police. Don't chase, and whatever you do, do not lay a hand on him unless in self defence.

If it's for real, then the police will expect you to provide proof of every detail. Be prepared to provide that proof.

But keep in mind, it may very well not be yours after all.

yeah, it should work out in my favor either way. I go, it is my saw and I get it back, if its not my saw? I need one and its a really cheap price. So either way, i end up with a saw.

I just called my brother who is a LT. at the sheriffs dept. He said if the guy agrees to meet with me, bring pictures of distinguishing features and he and an investigator will come with me. If it does happen to be my saw, stealing from the post office is a class 2 felony.

So, since I'll be able to meet with with two police officers with me I figure why not.

Yeah, man, a photographer in LA or SF had this happen, he took a cop with him to buy his stolen camera. He sat down, checked it over like he was checking it out, read the serial, it matched, then he gave some sign and they came and bagged the guy for stealing it.

Also, I'm pretty sure you get a punch on your man card for being involved in some sort of sting resulting in the arrest of someone who allegedly committed a class 2 felony. Well done.

make sure your packing heat just incase. you never know what kind of situation you may be in meeting someone off craigslist. what if he robs you or blows your head off in a parking lot or house. meeting in public is always smarter. be prepared for anything though

would any of you guys be interested in a set of the trd offroad wheels as a spare set for your offroad tires? i got new wheels so my old ones are gonna be up for sale theyll have to be redone if you want them to look incredible as the paint from when i did them got chipped from getting them getting mounted then other road wear. if anyone wants them before i refinish them id sell the set of 4 with lugs for 150. im planning on refinishing them proffesionally if not then trying to get more money for them. just thought id check and see if someone doesnt mind having a little project and wants to get these cheap before i redo them. PM me if youre interested i can get you pictures. theyll probly be redone tuesday or wednesday if i dont hear from anyone
