It’s a joke about having a pavement truck look like it goes off-road. Think of it similar to mall crawling. MUd terrain tires on a vehicle that never sees more than a dirt road and usually never leaves asphalt.

Shows a car doing a burnout.

As for being ok with some brush and limbs, yes to an extent. Driving through a ‘trail’ that is wide enough for a 4 wheeler/razor/dirt bike, and each rider still has to duck as low as possible to avoid hit in face with limbs, yeah no thank you :). Trails are all over the United States that are truck friendly without having to cause damage of any sort. I have plenty of land with plenty of trees and brush. Can go there for all the off roading and rough terrain anyone could handle and have limbs and brush tear through my paint left and right. Don’t want that so definitely not paying to ride somewhere that does same. Not with a 40k new truck. Can go spend less than 10k for a stock truck if some form and beat it to death without a care in the world!

Ahhhh ok thanks. I understand that. Yes I am not the guy to buy mud tires for 95% paved roads. However I didn’t buy my truck with 4wd just to have it in pavement. I’ve had a 2015 Tacoma sr5 before this that I bought new in 2015 and never once needed 4wd. Won’t ‘need’ 4wd now either with this new truck but wanted to be able to go enjoy some off road adventures if they came about to my liking. You’re the guy that says don’t worry it’ll be safe to jump off this cliff into the water below. It’ll be fun. I’m the guy that wants to see someone else jump that cliff then I’ll give it a try :)

There’s plenty in this group that’ll take their 3rd gens first, but they also have hundreds of pounds of extra metal on them.

Again I agree with you on the trails as far as brush. Surprisingly all the off-roading I’ve done my plastic bumpers are scratched to hell, but my body only has one ding, and it’s from a car in a parking lot. Everyone laughs when I tell them that.

You can tell limbs have slid down my truck, but if you look closely most isn’t through the clear. So I’m not too worried.

Agreed. That wouldn’t bother me either. Stripes down the truck are one thing but when they’re so bad they go down to the paint then it’s another. Couple trails here and there where brush and small limbs rub then I’ll be fine with that. There are some trails I’ve seen and clicked end to video because I know my truck isn’t going down them when I see the truck leaned against a wall of dirt and the guy keeps driving. Takes out a mirror and smiles. Definitely not happening!

@newdles, i unfortunately can't make as many as I like, but try to make a ride day some time. The guys that go always have an extra seat for the obstacles you don't want to attempt.

I have been busy modding the Samurai, converting from mechanical fuel pump to electric, modding the distributor and a few other modds. Also getting a few other things ready and collecting parts for the engine swap.

    And Building a tree house
