I thought about just beefing up my kayak trailer to have the RTT sit on it, but its so lightweight and narrow, it'd flip in a heartbeat..

@InfernoChalupa only reason im doing so much extra work to mine is because i plan on it being able to go rock crawling behind the truck. So i bought a heavy duty trailer and im upgrading the axle and suspension to heavier duty components. If you have no intention of getting crazy on the trails with it then its very easy to do. I can help you have it set up and ready in a day

Narrow good, to narrow not good. Also as long as you dont use a lock and roll it wont flip. Im gunna use a pintle hitch /lunette set up so it wont roll all the way over.

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't plan to wheel the trailer. It would basically be something to set up home base, then have the truck free for whatever. Basically just a kayak hauler that happens to hold a RTT lol.

no lol I've been on the fence if I wanted to chase the trailer route haha Especially since I already have a kayak trailer that works.

I bet Wes would have an idea of how to make your kayak trailer work. Post up a pic of it and maybe we can come up with somthing.

Well turns out I've never actually taken a picture of just the trailer lol I have a picture that'll give you a rough idea of what its like. Its an old single jet ski trailer, with an extended tongue, roughly 14' total length. The "box" is covered with wood and flat to give it a more utility feel to it and is roughly 5.5' of space, rounded at the front of course. It has side bars that extend up with 3 crossbars to host another kayak on top. As you can tell, the trailer is barely wider than a single kayak.

Widening the trailer to fit both yaks side by side isn't really doable, and building supports higher than the top yak would get sketchy real quick given how light the entire setup is. I can pick it up and roll it around by hand with a decent amount of effort lolkayak trailer.jpg

engineers always do when it's discussing units. a 14" trailer is really REALLY small.

if I spent my time correcting every word, or bit of bad grammar in here I'd never be able to do anything else.

let me introduce you to @tweakit88 and @JBTacoma. they make my skin crawl.

mine isn't perfect, but I think mine is to the quality it should be for forum use.
