I would put a $500 dollar eBay turbo setup on a 99 honda civic, but not a 2017 Tacoma.

Lady is training a service dog and brings it to all of the morning meetings. I got to sit with it and pet it the entire time, so that was pretty awesome.

I am in the market for a new Tacoma and I have done my research on here in regards to the wheels and tires I want but I cannot for the life of me keep up with the types of lifts you all use. I am still researching on here and youtube but it gets a tad overwhelming. I have zero mechanical experience and will absolutely not touch my truck on my own, will leave that to the professionals. I also am curious where in Alabama you had your lift done and who you would recommend. Also did you have that same place that did your lift put on your tires and wheels as well?

I am in the Birmingham area (Leeds) and would appreciate any advice!

I believe it's a different kind of service dog, like one to recognize medical issues. I could be wrong. I assumed the same as you but she highly encourages the petting. It's a puppy yellow lab so it's freaking awesome.

 

must of us put our own lifts on, with assistance of other members. we have a plethora of folks/knowledge in here that are more than capable of putting lifts on....arguably more capable than any shop you'll find. we all use shops to do tires/wheels though.

yes sir. if you are able to wait till a scheduled mod day, or someone in your area is willing to work it out with you, then you can just bring all your stuff, learn, and install it then for usually no cost...maybe a case of beer or pizza lol. if you trust 'em.

 

That’s not how I would spend 147k.

 

The majority of us did them ourselves or with the help of others in this thread. Bring it to a mod day and any of us can get it done. If your worried you wont get a professional job done, keep in mind we collectivly have installed more lifts that most any tech around. Also a few of us ( myself included) are Technicians by trade.
