If dude can afford it, more power to him. But I think he's missing the whole point to "overlanding" if he won't even take a small amount of time to do the basic mods or won't take the time to learn at the minimum.

40k actually isn’t that bad for a good exec protection dog from a good bloodline. When I worked at iK9 we regularly had dogs at the facility that were 20-30k. Some puppies with no training were 8-10k with NO training. Just for the bloodline.

 

I can see how it would cost that much and dogs like that are completely necessary for some people, but for a dude that's a management consultant, not sure I'm buying it.

I know Opelika can spend upwards of $30K for pups. Direct from Europe. That's what a K-9 buddy told me.

 

If I had his kind of money I wouldn’t be starting with a Tacoma that’s for sure. AEV would be getting a call.

 

It'd probably be cheaper having one shop do a complete build than piece it together like he's talking about. Definitely be higher quality with AEV for sure too.

 

Or heck I’d just figure out a way to put a RTT on a trophy truck.

 

I'd be calling Year One as well as AEV. Gotta have fun on pavement also.

 

Yeah, me too. Lol. But he probably hauls it behind and RV or something. Some of those flat tow setups use a 3 hitch type system if I remember right.

 

Yeah, some folks that buy the most expensive suspension then don't buy any armor make me wonder. But its their money and this is the U S of A so they can freedom on with their money how they want.

 

Or before even knowing how your 4wd system works...
