The cost of another mic is as much as this cb is worth lol. I know it’s just the mic too because the few times I’ve gotten it to come through clear again all I was doing was fidgeting with the mic wire.

Agreed. I don't ever transmit over it (which I hear is where you get into trouble burning them up). I just turn it on and run it like a scanner basically to get traffic updates from truckers going into BHM. Only transmitted a handful of times knowing I don't wanna fry it before tuning. I keep saying I'm gonna pull the trigger on a SWR meter, and then never do. Ordering one now..

I've got an extra mic you can have. No need to buy a new one.

Where does everyone have their CB's mounted? I've never taken a pic of mine, but might run out and snap a pic to show Scotty the size of the Uniden.

A Good HAM is very clear and much better than CB but most everyone I ride with have CBs. I only need one on the trail and usually the people I need to talk to are within my sight, so range is not an issue but being the only one on a ride with a HAM is a big issue.

This was my favorite spot for it in a turd gen. Completely out of the way of my legs when I’m driving. Also found a good use for the little cubby!

I had @TacoAlaMode tune it. So insult him if you'd like.

It's just a cheap CB so I'm sure the mic just went to crap.

Nah. I just like insulting you. I have no doubt he did it correctly.

What CB do you have? I’ve got the cheap cobra from Walmart. Mine will probably eventually do what yours is doing.

It may not be the prettiest lol But it'll at least help you narrow down if your CB is toast or if it just needed a new mic. I've been considering running an external speaker with mine. The built in is actually pretty good, but doesn't quite push enough volume to hear it well with both windows rolled down going 70 mph hah.

On the radio, they were talking about zero turn's... You need both hands to drive, which limits your beverage intake.
