What's bumper plates?

 

The rubber weights used in weight lifting.

 

My google fu found this. So they are just rubber coated weights then.

 

Working off them doughnuts

 

45lb pair is 200$..

 

Lol trying to get back into it. Just want to get more in my home gym to get some better workouts. Just not made of money..

So what's so special about these bumper plates that make them more expensive than iron weights? Just the rubber coating so you don't scratch up your floor?

 

Ah, ok.

 

Yeah just really dense rubber. They bounce and won’t crack so you can drop them or whatever. Good for deadlifting.

 

I wouldn’t drop even the rubber plates I’d still get a stall mat from tractor supply. It really is not good for the bars, the center rings in plates, or concrete for repetitive dropping.

I’ve got some cheap ones, nothing fancy. That being said used market and quality. Have cash ready and stay on FB marketplace

 

Rogue does make better quality than say a lot of budget Amazon brands. I love my rogue bar, but I bought it scratch less and used.

A quality bar makes lifting a lot better.

 

You ever get your sandblaster operational?

 

What do you need sand blasted? I have a small cabinet.

 

I was more curious if Tanner ever hooked his up. I do have a few knife blanks and some titanium hardware that could use a good blasting, but I'll do that at work. Do you have one like Tanner's?

 

Yes, it works great. However I have to use the air compressor and shop vac on separate outlets or boop break trips.

 

Hey all! I made a post in the general South East page a couple of weeks ago, but it was suggested that I post in here as well. Fiance and I are heading towards northern Alabama this weekend and we'll be exploring/camping around the area for the entire week next week. I thought it'd be cool if anyone wanted to meet up to do some camping or some trails. I got a great list of places to check out from the other thread. We're not locked in to staying in Alabama, and we're looking at venturing into northern Georgia, eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina as well. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up or if there are any gatherings taking place.
