Didn’t think of that, lol. I Just don’t want to hang my bikes off the back of my truck.

 

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of it either, but I'm not sure I want it on the side... decisions. Oh well, either way would be better than what I currently have. It sucks.

 

Not sure what safety issues were been rocking them for about 4-5 years now.

 

Ever run in to problems with the bike hanging too far off the side of the truck? Seems the handle bars stick out quite a ways.

 

Might just do that. For my mountain bike to fit, I still have to remove the front wheel and lower my seat a bit but it would be easier doing what you said.

I couldn’t figure out what made them “unsafe”, I just remember that was the o my reason I could find as to why they were discontinued by the manufacturer. I always wanted a set.

 

Well I know of a couple places that have them in the making just not sure when they will come out

I like your setup too. I've always liked the utility of the bed bars like you've got. I will say, I'm getting used to the softopper and its come in handy quite a lot. Frees up tons of space in the cab when I have to carry large items I don't necessarily want exposed in the bed all day.

 

I would definitely pick up a softopper if I found a good deal on one

 

I'm liking the more sleek look that I get with the topper and without the roof rack. My truck looks a little more "grown-up" if that's even a thing. Lol.

Any of you camping/overlanding guys ever tried these? I have seen them on several youtube channels, and have thought of giving them a try on our next camping trip. My crew is pretty picky eaters so I'm wondering if they taste as goo

All I've heard is positive reviews on them. Personally, I just pack cans of soup or ramen when I camp. Its cheap. And if I get a hankerin' for food in a bag, I'll get some MREs and bring those.
