I had a 97 Tacoma that made me money. I paid $4000 and sold it for $7000

I'm out of here, y'all are dumb.

Y'all the kind of people that think buying something that is usually 100$ for 80$, instead of not buying it...means you are "saving". no, you spent 80$...you aren't saving.

To be fair, it "pays for itself" relatively speaking. You have to spending less than you would on say, a truck, for it to "save" you money. At the end of the day, you aren't making anything. You're spending less than you would otherwise.

If you always had a gas saver car, you really aren't saving money because you have nothing to compare it to.

I know, its nit picky, but its like saying you're investing in something when really you're buying a product that only depreciates.

All good points. Most people I don't think analyze it enough to see any cost savings though, especially the amount of time needed to actually see it. For me, I'm going to start commuting on my dual sport bike more. That'll help cut my weekly costs because my bike gets 40 mpg and is paid for. But buying a beater that needs 5k in work done just to save you 10 mpg compared to a truck just doesn't make sense.

oh and that 400 isn't taxed, because it's supposed to be there to help with expenses of using personal vehicle. idk how it works, but i don't claim the profit.

True. Its all situation dependent. Just comes down to cost/benefit analysis and not buying something because it makes you feel like you're saving money.

in rare situations vehicles can make money, like jeff selling that tacoma for more. those are rare situations.

I don't see you making millions on a car, so sit your ass down.

I DON'T DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT'S MORE FUEL EFFICIENT THAN MY TACOMA.

I was averaging about 21 in my 3rd gen when it was stock, but I was doing a fair amount of highway driving.

I don't daily it lol. You haven't been correct once on my 4runner.

I bought the 4runner, because I trail ride the Tacoma and sometimes it breaks. Sometimes I either can't afford to fix that, or won't have the time before needing to use a vehicle to get somewhere. Rather than always borrowing from my dad, I got the 4runner as my backup because it's a reliable vehicle. I alternate driving them, and now often I carpool with Amy in 1 of our 3 vehicles.

MPG has absolutely 0 factor in my choices of driving any of them.

i never mentioned me making millions, remember I drive a tacoma lol. You said "CARS" as in all cars with nothing specific, if you meant something specific you didn't specify, but now you're changing it to rare situations.
