I wrap a dummy up in a blue tarp, tape it, drizzle some fake blood on it, throw a shovel, rope, gas can, duct tape in the bed and drive around town with my tailgate down. I always get a lot of honks.

alright, work question for you folks.

if you get hired into a certain position (that you interviewed for), received very little to no training to do that position, but your "team's" needs are changing and you're getting trained for a different position that you did not interview for or apply for....what do you do?

my previous job I was hired to work FOR somebody specific, so kinda just as they requested I did. This job though, I'm now not being trained to do what I was hired for, and I'm being trained to do other work because people are leaving and they need the support. do I complain, ask for raise, just go with the flow....any advice?

you haven't been there long enough to make demands in my opinion.

Id say go with the flow and look for employment elsewhere if unhappy, I'd say you would need to be there at least 2 years before asking for a raise, depending on relationship with supervisor. Although I believe a raise should be given each year regardless.

Are you working under contract? If you are it should spell it out if not you can ask but it is really up to them.

I definitely don't disagree, I've only been here 3 months. The only reason I even think that is because I was hired to perform a certain roll, and the agreed upon position is not what I am being tasked to do. I did not agree upon the roll I am being tasked/trained for. I'm not unhappy, just not sure how to proceed, and also do not want to be in the position I wasn't hired for.

Too early to say how it will be, I'd say give it a try for a month before reporting to your supervisor on how you feel about it.

agreed, I'm not meaning I'd go talk to him today. I know he's planning to backfill the position that I'm "assisting" with, but as I said I have literally received 0 training for the position I got hired for....so I don't want him to expect me to just do whatever he needs, instead of the job I was hired for. That's part of the reason I left my old job...because there was 0 direction for me.

I signed a contract that spelled out everything in my last job. But I have worked without one. Without one you can ask but it's really up to them. I'm sure you was looking for something you wanted to do when you applied for the job but most companies move people around to suit their needs. I say try it you may like it, if not start looking. They are companies out there that take care of their employees, they are just hard to find.

I'm not worried about disliking the position, I'm more worried about being "dual-hatted" for the job I was hired for and also this job they're plugging me into. In this program the dual-hats get ass rammed and name dropped all day every day because they don't have time to do both rolls. I want 1 or the other, not both.

    Like, so many.
Do you enjoy the work environment? I've found I can tolerate a lot if I enjoy the people I work with.

If it's not what you want, start looking. Doing a job you are not happy with is not good for anyone involved. I would take less pay to be where I am happy. Give it a try if it's not what you want let them know. If they do nothing to make you happy start looking.
