I know exactly what you mean! haha I valued riding in that truck more than the big spacious vehicles, because it was a good time of bonding with my dad, and super critical to me learning to drive a manual trans vehicle.

Hand calculated/full tank and same as Matt; computer display was only ever off by .3 mpg tops. Now very important to note, this was me "hypermiling" it and keeping a close watch on my rpms/gear I was in on the freeway. If I drove pedal to the floor everywhere I went, it would easily drop to 18 mpg average.

i find my computer to be very accurate for my hand calculations before I add the percentage that my tires throw off the reading.

computer when stock was dead on, and actually i got 23-23.5 on a few tanks before any mods.

The extra weight/wind drag wasn't enough to keep me out of 6th gear most of the time, so maintaining good gas mileage wasn't too tough. Tires more aggressive/heavier than stock, it took a 2+ mpg hit, as it has a much harder time staying in 6th gear now. I honestly haven't tried to hypermile it with my current setup. Right now, I'm getting 17-17.5 average going about 80mph everywhere lol. I drove at about 68mph this morning on the way in, staying in 6th gear most of the way, at the very end of my tank, and watched my mpg display go up .4 mpg just from the one 30ish miles trip. Pedal discipline definitely can be a determining factor for gas mileage, brake pedal included.

No idea, but I can tell you from experience with from having bed bars, bed rack, and a camper shell, the most annoying part of that design is the lack of side access reaching into the bed. The solid side piece with holes sure does look cool, but functionally speaking, theres not a whole lot you're gonna be able to mount to it besides maybe a hi lift jack.

accurate, I love having my bed rack with plenty of space to access from the sides. That's one thing I never loved about my non-windoor camper shell.

I'm really liking the decked system that Scotty just sold Leman. That may be a new direction for bed storage for me and I can toss my truck box back into my 2nd gen when I get it back.

Yes, that's a bit more than what I want to pay for storage at the moment. My truck box works just fine, just exploring other options.

I've owned them all, so I can appreciate them all as well. I just think the Tacoma is the best looking truck out there, no matter the generation!

    All Tacoma generations matter...
