Yeah, come on down Matt! Big John is calling yours and Jeff's name! lol I'll try it again with a little more head speed this time. If you notice in my video, it's a pretty gnarly hill climb.

Did you put a UV sealant on them afterward? If not, they will be back hazed in a month.

Another thing to consider is, that the 5160s are only rated for around 1" of lift in the rear. When you upgrade to Dakars or Dobinsons, you will get at least 2.5" in the rear. I don't know if this will be an issue when you do change leaf packs though.

Headstrong is getting an additional ~$16.975 per shock. If they are drop shipping, then you can only mark this up to administrative overhead. Such as responding to questions in this thread or answering the telephone if you have a problem. Now you get to determine what you think that overhead is worth and then base your purchase on that.

Just get what you feel good about. I wouldn't let a minor price increase change your mind about what shocks to run. Heard great things about both so i dont think you can go wrong

I I had my coils set at 2.25 inches of lift all the way up unyil last week which i adjusted them to 2.5 for the bigger tires going on there today. That will be plenty of lift for up to a 33 inch tire. However i do have aftermarket uca and cab mount chop. I have 0 rub even offroad

    edit: Also have 700lb coils

You may have to get some longer rear bump stops to keep from bottoming the shock out. Especially if you're only throwing a 1" block underneath it for now. Plus I'm reading that the B110s are for 3"-4" of lift? I have a lot of reading and deciding to do on my own suspension as well! lol

I just ordered B110's from Wheelers and 1.5" blocks to add on top of my already 2" lift. I'll let you know how they ride when they get here and @Jerneyman helps me put them on. @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc has their BF sale of 15% off still going so even with shipping it was still the best price around.

B110s are technically tundra shocks, not Tacoma. Keep that in mind when you are looking at lift numbers.

More importantly, look at extended and collapsed numbers of you want to optimize your suspension. The “this shock is for x amount of lift” is very vague and will differ from company to company.

Aren't you running 5100s on your truck too? The b110s in the rear correct? I know that factory shock is 14" compressed and I believe the b110 is a little over 16" compressed.

yep, 5100s in the front and b110s in the rear.

The b110 was originally used in tundra lifts, but I just realized they are Oslo used in the Tacoma drop bracket lift. So my last comment wasn’t accurate.

Ideally, you want the maximum extended length you can get without sacrificing an excessive amount of collapsed length.

the b110s have 2-3ish more inches of extended length than factory replacement shocks with a similar collapsed length, so that’s why people use them.

They also have a 2-3 more inches longer collapsed length as well, so you can't run them without a lift in the rear. From the specs I'm seeing, at least a 2.5 lift in the rear.
